To me "Are you Ready?" has that kind of Jamaican dancehall vibe, like Sean Paul's "Like Glue". Also, Damiano's accent sounds a bit like that, don't you think?

He sings the way raggae/raggeton/dance hall singers do, and to me he does it really well Dance hall was pretty big in Italy some 20 years ago, at least for a segment of the public. Don’t know whether it’s still so though

It reminds me Sean Paul, I believe it was one of their "experiment" in the first album, I like it but I do prefer much more the newer songs. By the way this week were in Germany, saturday in Czech rep, and yesterday in Belgium for concerts. Full videos available onl YT, they said they rocked it!

Hi. I wanna give a shoutout to the person who put up that video trying to spread out more for Maneskin; but the transcription is not really accurate. Back in the day Damiano was fresh from Soul and Reggae singing-studies, so he'd sort of trained himself in some kind of Jamaican accent (and was criticized quite a lot for that, starting from the X Factor; but come on, he was just 18). You might hear some of that in Beggin' as well. I suppose he was going for an accent here, too. In their first album (2018), including this Are You Ready?, they branched out a lot, experimenting several genres and mixing whatever. If you want to hear them really rap, have a listen to Immortale. Their new album, Teatro d'Ira Vol. I, is very different; they made up their mind on the kind of music they wanted to make, and there's more coherence in the several songs. Btw, it was released as recently as March 2021, so they certainly haven't been keeping fans dry, although they're working on Vol. II. But don't think that even if you were their manager you'd have any say on how fast they drop the next album. They chose their own management, and nobody's the boss of them. Plus, Ethan, the drummer, just came down with tendonitis, and needs a period of absolute rest for the time being. Benzo sarebbe la Mercedes. "Get the bands up" è slang rap che significa qualcosa tipo tira fuori un sacco di grana, o fai vedere che ce l'hai anche se non ce l'hai... Ma non è veramente il testo della canzone, sto per trascriverlo su dal libretto che ho io dell'album.
