Cal Aurand was their official photographer. He toured with him. He was constantly filming the boys and taking pics. That's where a lot of the boys pics came from (pap pics too).

i think this was being filmed for a documentary which was going to be released in 2012 but they chose to post on their youtube channel as video diaries, ofc some of the footage was being cut. cause 'this is us' filming started in 2013, they were constantly filmed during 2012-13

i think this footage was leaked/posted by the person, Calvin Aurand(Cal) who has documented and photographed 1D from 2012-2015 and also he documented harry styles: behind the album (2017), some of his videos made it into 'this is us' and some of his videos were posted on one direction youtube channel and his photos were published in their books "where we are", "who we are",etc. [1d had lots of books for sim*n knows what reasons(ofc money) and those books had almost all the same content]

the boat footage is from up all night era and i don't think they have yet even started recording take me home cause they were still promoting up all night in australia but those one-on-one interview were from may 2012 and they started tmh recording in may.
