I've seen this countless times and it never, never fails to give me goosebumps, goosebumps from start to finish. The significance for Damiano singing this at San Remo and with the orchestra took Coraline into the stratosphere. Their best performance of Coraline by the length of the Flemington straight. Now if they could only tour Australia.....l live in hope, l will live with eternal hope.

And we are talking about some kind of east europe country that even the band themself haven't heard about. But why not to go to australia? i heard some countries had the conserts inside and because *cough cough* we-know-what they had to cancel. Is that it?

Ohhh, what a moment, what a night. I’m sorry you couldn’t see after, Damiano couldn’t stop crying. That stage, that orchestra, that song and her girlfriend Giorgia Soleri sitting on the crowd which helped him to write it. Unforgettable. Beautiful reaction, thank you. ''Giorgia era in sala a Sanremo.

The best part of this show of these amazing musicians is AFTER they finished, which is cut out here. Damiano is totally emotional, coming back to home, where it all started. Best Måneskin performace ever.

And his girlfriend whom this song is dedicated to and written about (her real name is Giorgia Soleri) was in the audience there. He was singing it to her. Thus such emotion. You can also notice that in many moments of the song he looks at a very same spot in the audience. It was her it was all for her that time.

This song was inspired in Giorgia, his girlfriend, who suffered an illness called endometriosis, which is absolutely misdiagnosed. Doctors leave girls suffering one of the most terrible pain for humans during 10-15 years, until they're diagnosed, because they say that "everything is in their heads". Consequently, they live an hell, and, when they're finally diagnosed, their bodies are absolutely destroyed inside. I suffer the same illness and I can swear to you that I knew the song was about a woman with endometriosis before knowing about Giorgia ♥ It always makes me cry ♥

Finally! Knew you'd appreciate the strings and especially the ending. I've watched and listened to this San Remo version about a hundred times by now, it's just perfection on every level. Too bad you didn't catch it while it was still shown at Rai TV, the sound quality was a little bit better, but this seems to be the best version around at the moment. They should consider adding strings to some more of their songs, especially ballads, because they really suit their style.
@TheMuserResolute
@TheMuserResolute 2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely!! The strings really make a huge impact. Absolutely shocked me at the last section! Whilst editing this, I realised that that section relied completely on Damiano to keep time. The sustained strings meant that we lose a sense of rhythmic drive and pulse (established usually by the guitar and drums). It’s amazing that that section alone completely relies on Damiano’s vocals for us to still feel this sense of rhythm and pulse

This song is inspired by the true story of a Roman girl who suffered sexual violence from her father and became pregnant at 15, she committed suicide to put an end to the abuse (the castle of the song is actually a cemetery in Rome). Very touching and moving, it is a song of denunciation to the violence against women.
@nevaf.s.5358
@nevaf.s.5358 Жыл бұрын
Wrong. He told it many times recently that the song is about his girlfriend Giorgia Soleri and the suffering is due to her illnesses. (she also had and abortion due to that) Look at the interviews, it was very very clearly stated. The end of the song does not necessarily mean that she died or commited suicide, but that she was contemplating it.

Maestro Enrico Melozzi did a very good job here. The beautiful Orchestra of Sanremo was such a plus to this already great song. About Thomas' solo I'm a bit torn. I don't know If I like the fact that the guitar was quite drowned in by the strings... but I don't know, maybe I'm just splitting hair, the performance was stunning!!! (even though the sound engineers forgot to open Victoria's bass at the right time 😖) Grazie!

we have , in italy, a famous example of a singer, and commonly accepted as poet, that have much in common with this song i.m.o., for music and verses and also poetic choises. this author, called fabrizio de andrè, wrote a song for a woman, that we may define as "sex worker" brutally killed and thrown in the local river, back in the 60ies. since her life had been possibly miserable, de andrè decided to honour her death and all these sad stories writing this song, naming her "marinellla song" and the very first line says "this is the true story of marinella, who fell in a river in sprintime" inventing, for her, a fairytale, where a king accidentally knocked one day at her door and feel instantly in love with her, and they made love in an idilliac nature, then on her way back home, she accidentally fell in the river and drawn and the king, "who could not believe her for dead, would have knocked on her door for the further 100 years." as Damiano said this is to be considered as a fairitale, ad thanked her girlfriend for helping her to write/elaborate it, and since she has a tatoo with the face+name of the book chacacter, my opinion is that Damiano might have been running some traumatic experience for not been able to help a person somehow close to him, chose the name from the character bc of the tatoo and the help of her girlfriend. if we assume the allegoric language of de andrè similar, (the music, the composing in few point are) the son says quite clear that a girl is been abused by the father, wich causes her psyological damage, as anxiety and agoraphobia (wich precludes you to exite from the house door -personal experience- but also condemn you to live with you monster) then pregnangy and abortion (she has lost the fruit of her womb without even knowing love) , and finally leading her to committee siuicide, and be able to exit the house where she was the victim, and go to the castle where nothing can hurt her. good job, love from italy

All'inizio quanda canta senza i suoi musicisti hai detto anche "Ridicoulous" ... Beh questi sono commenti personali nemmeno troppo deontologici
