Observing and knowing them All eat differently My hens have food and grit in front of them 7 days a week They May have eaten before exercise they may not but regardless they fly same always because I have trained them that way It’s all discipline Discipline and training traps them straight away Not hunger It’s just a case of knowing how much to give and which ones need more or less Takes a while Took me a year nearly to get balance right Bit of an art but you will get back what you put in Good luck

They will be fine, pigeons are extremely cold hardy. Just keep most of the wind off then and they can handle anything.

Manley, let them all out all the time. Do not hold any back. Are you joking, 2 km? I take my birds, first time for 30 to 40 km. They range around the house 15 to 25 km. Let them enjoy bath on the grass, let them loose Abit.

Have you done this fly several times to compare the flight pattern and time? Curious to know whether or not they started coming home faster once they got familiar with the route or if they just enjoy flying around a bit before heading home...
