Musicaly I had a long run. Born in the early 60's to a couple of musical dino's. They had records of Herp Albert, Grieg and old Sweedish dansmusic. Thank you for that heritage. When I started to buy records my self it was often not the most expencive and modern records I ended up with. But I looked in the recordshops boxes of low priced failed records. And sometimes I found gold. The Roaring silence lp was very cheap and is probably one of my most valuble treasures to this day. An incredible musical eargasm that had a big impact on my future musical preferences. Questions is my pathway to contemperary music. The melancoly and instrumental geniuos of this song hits my central music core.

I loved that band and loved that album! And for those who had questions, listen the so good voice of Chris Hamlet Thompson: In a dream it would seem I went to those who close the open door And turning the key, I sat and spoke to those inside of me They answered my questions with questions And they pointed me into the night Where the moon was a star-painted dancer And the world was just a spectrum of light They reached to my center of reason And pulled on the touchstone that's there The shock of that light had me reeling And I fell into the depths of despair Turning the key, I sat and spoke to those inside of me They answered my questions with questions And set me to stand on the brink Where the sun and the moon were as brothers And all that was left was to think They answered my questions with questions And pointed me into the night The power that bore me had left me alone To figure out which way was right

@@richardkaltenbach3961 Boston's "More than a feeling" it's overplayed just like Journey's "Don't stop believing". However when it comes to "Blinded by the light" I know it's overplayed but a lot of stations play the single version which is missing the guitar solo. Unfortunately.

I've always enjoyed this song and altohugh I had a Cd with Schubert's piano impromptus, I had to read about to realize I know this theme .. in another version. It's nicely done, a rather unusual moving piece for Manfred Mann's Earth Band. The Roaring Silence is definitely my favourite album by MMEB.. Certainly because it's got some classical influences here and there. Not only the melodies are strong but it's his most "orchestral" album (thanks to the mellotron)

@@gijsschubert7901 In truth, it is it's own thing, but has elements of both. The verse is similar to the Schubert, but the bridge is similar to the Bach.

Not crazy about this album at all Blinded By The Light is a great tune although overplayed this album for me has one gem song. Questions is a great tune, The Roaring Silence marks the arrival of new frontman Chris Thompson he has a great voice and very fitting for slower songs. The next Earth Band album had another great catchy tune called California. If you like Questions check that one out.
