Manfrotto tripod 290 dual and 3D head - Review

Thanks for the honest review. I like the fact that you pointed out what type of photography this tripod is better suited for. I never really thought about that in connection with tripods in general, but it makes sense.

These look interesting, but the plate design somewhat worries me. I've heard a few people claim the release plate came off on them, resulting in very expensive lense damage.

Well, this one is good, I use it for video as well but I have a second head when making videos. (MANFROTTO 500 FLUID VIDEO HEAD WITH 60MM) It is small and not heavy. I use as well a Manfrotto XPRO video monopod - perfect for video and photo!

Which one between these do you recommend for video work with a mid weight camera rig? The Manfrotto 190, 290 or 055?

OH MY GOD. I'm sorry for this late response. ☹️ I would go with the 055 as it is the biggest. But make sure you have a video head with it like the Manfrotto MVH500AH for example. I advise you to test them to see if you like them first. All the best to you.

@@NicolasDelafraye no worries. I appreciate the response. I actually ended up buying the 055 XproB. I just need to add a video head. I have that 3 way pan tilt head thing. It'll work for static shots.

It's a good simple sturdy head, but no use for pointing camera directly upwards. 😐
