Hey CC. Yeah it is rather large, but I really like it. Manfrotto does make a smaller version called the 494 ALUMINUM CENTER BALL HEAD. Tom Crandall Yeah, originally I was thinking pick up the 494, but the price between 494 and this Xpro isn’t too far. So I kind of hesitated which one to pick:/

The new 496 is a perfect balance, especially for travel tripods; the 494 is too small for my taste. The Befree GTs come with this head.

Excellent video. Do you have any suggestions on a Manfrotto tripod that works well with the XPRO Ball Head Quick Release?

I think you will be happy with any Manfrotto tripod with the XPro. The 055 Carbon Fiber 3-Section or 4 section tripod would be awesome to pair it with.

A lot of use L brackets that stay on the camera, Arca swiss. Just found out, this head also comes with an Arca swiss option.

Not sure I knew that. I don't believe mine came with one. It is a pretty sick ball head, so it makes sense they would want Arca Swiss types to also use it.

Holy cr@p! This is the first vlogger to pronounce Manfrotto correctly. Any idea how many "experts" channels that implies? Kudos. Currently (2020) I cannot find that exact design of receiver with the additional push down release safety lever, not even on Manfrotto USA website. All I can find online is what's called the old one here, the design with the brass pivot pin. Any leads?

Wow, thanks! As far as leads, I don't have any at the moment. Sometimes you can find stuff at Camera swap meets, but with COVID around, those mostly have been canceled. You might try Ebay, FB Market Place or Craigslist. You might get lucky.

I have a different Manfrotto ball head and the ratchet failed. Internally it's a tiny piece of cheap plastic and it just broke. I made up some epoxy and pushed it into the broken ratchet and turned it into a lever. After that it worked fine.
