I can relate to this, as my wife was a late bloomer and I was too dense to realize when she had fallen in love with me, even though I'd had a crush on her for years by that point. She tried to put up all of our friends to getting me to ask her out, but I honestly thought I didn't stand a chance with her as she was (and still is) heartbreakingly gorgeous and I'm... not that. In the end, she had to ask me out herself. We were in 10th grade at the time, over 30 years ago. She's in the kitchen baking bread right now, to go with the stew I'm making for dinner (I'm watching videos while it simmers). Yes, I know how lucky I am.

This was so beautiful! Reiko and Yuto's story of falling in love with one another and becoming a couple was so wholesome, and Reiko hiding under Yuta's bed to confess her love for him was just adorable. The protagonist asks her if she is in love with someone (several times), every time she gets vague and doesn't give him an answer... He shows himself on good terms with a boy, with whom he sits on the bus during the journey... Arrived at their destination the protagonist tells her that the other is hitting on her and she replies "maybe" and asks him what to do. In the evening the other boy says he is going to confess to the girl. Was this all part of Usami's plan? Are we sure it was to help the girl be with the protagonist? Isn't it that deep down he hoped that the 2 didn't end up together to take it on him? Let's assume that before the night some other girl in the class had declared herself to the protagonist, who now convinced that Reiko was interested in Usami accepts the declaration and ends up with another one. All the boy's information is negative, nothing gave him hope. Imagine Reiko's face when hidden in Yuta's bed, sees him arrive together with the other girl flirting
