As someone who has been in pretty much this exact situation with chronic kidney disease this hit pretty hard and really close to home, even a very similar situation with my sister

Great story. Very touching. Four years ago I had compartment syndrome in my left leg and kidney failure. I came close to death. I was place in a nursing home after I left the hospital for rehabilitation and dialysis. In a month and a half I recovered. However I am still under a doctor's care as well as a nephrologist. I have kidney disease but I live with it. This is a very touching story. ❤

There was a "House" episode with that. A couple were dating, one side didn't want to be together anymore, the other side was desperate to stay together. Gave their gf a puppy, but it was from an illegal mill in Arizona? I think. It wasn't intentional, but got the bubonic plague of all things. Started to have liver failure, and needed a donor. So gave her half of their liver. That way the GF would be guilt tripped to stay together with them.

Nice story. Nice that he told her why he is moving away instead of avoiding her. Its also nice that he apologized sooner after the episode he had with her rather than dragging it. Understandable why he behaved like that. W Mmc and W FMC and are perfect for each other unlike some idiots say in the comments because he yelled at her.

Though sad at times, the story was beautiful. Two people who love each other to be able to be together because of the selflessness of one person. ❤ ❤

Ryo x Kaede showed a very beautiful young couple, the fact that Ryo had severe medical issues with his kidney, and Kaede became his match, even being 2nd cousins (the 6th degree, or the outermost degree, of compatability for matches). Even little sister did what she could to help, shows that she had a little bro-con effect towards Ryo. Cute, powerful story showing that tragedies like this have truly no fault, and, yet can be overcome successfully.

God this must have been tough for Ryo do you have to go through hemodialysis at such a young age and having to wait on a donor list knowing that each day that was ticking down was him reaching his end 😞 but it's sweet that Tsumugi and Kaede saved him from that depression 🥲 and it's cute that they started dating.🥰
@Sparky06276 ай бұрын
You probably should have mentioned he's only dating Kaede, not his sister, Tsumugi! 😂😂😂 Granted, Kaede is his Grandmother's nephew's daughter (thus 2nd cousin, whish is allowable), but not creepy when dating. Her dad is his 1st cousin once removed.

It was hard for Ryo having to deal with his kidney disease, 😞 but after Kaede donated hers to him, he can now live a normal life. 😊 And he'll be living that life with Kaede by his side. 🥰

Almost reminds me of the movie "Return to Me" with Minnie Driver and David Ducovny. His wife died in a car accident, and Driver's character received her heart. She wrote him a Thank You note, which was mailed to him by the Kidney Foundation anonymously. So he didn't know that she received the heart. So the part where he wouldn't know was correct in the story. For those that want to know ..... She was waitressing at her grandpa's (Carroll O'Connor) restaurant (cook was great-uncle Robert Loggia, another great performance), and he was on a blind date with horrible woman (double date with his friend and his date). She gave him a to-go dinner when a pre-arranged call got him out. He left his cell phone by accident, and when he returned to get it, both her grandpa & great-uncle noticed he kept asking about her. He ended up playing poker with them, and when she came down to cover her plants (weather turned windy and bad), he helped her. And they started dating. They fell in love, and when she finally came to his house, she saw her thank you note on his desk. She ran away to her friend (Bonnie Hunt) and told her about it. Bonnie's husband (Jim Belushi) got involved but calmed down. She ran away to paint in Italy, and he followed. You see them at a wedding at the end, but it's actually the other waitress's wedding! Overall, it's a great movie with fantastic acting and scenes. Funny and sad, and poignant. No evil antagonists in it. And hilarious how she kept wearing clothes to cover her scar.

"According to Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, studies show that kidney donors tend to outlive the general population, and that donating a kidney doesn't affect life expectancy. For example, a 1997 study of 430 living kidney donors in Sweden found that 85% were still alive 20 years after donation, compared to the expected survival rate of 66%. A 2010 Johns Hopkins study also found that the 12-year mortality rate for living kidney donors was 1.5%, compared to 2.9% for the control group."

this is the second time i would see this art style and character design since last month called "the new guy is such a snob until he finds out I'm dating the CEO's daughter..." and even made funnier on the fact that kawaii romcom mangas' channel happen to do an episode of it just today. this already feels sad, and I don't mean from the thumbnail art as well. i long since i hated the mc here as i get you wanted to be normal and wanted to live longer but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be an ass to someone who is ACTUALLY trying to support you. what did she see in him? also, if someone wanted to keep quiet, WHY EVEN BOTHER SPILLING THE BEANS?! if anything, i was expecting this kind of episode from last month called "I only had a year to live so I asked my beautiful childhood friend to kiss me". and to think this episode with end with a christmas moment like they have done so a couple of times. by the way, I've noticed some 3D materials lately.

Yes, but only 2nd Cousins. Grandmother's nephew's daughter. (So Great-Aunt's son's daughter.) Not a 1st cousin like an aunt or uncle's child. So allowed and not creepy.
@michaellinnet60956 ай бұрын
Just barely. He said she was his grandmother's nephew's child. If we assume she was his maternal grandmother, his mother gets 60% of her dna from her mom. He gets 60% from his mom. I don't know the exact formula, but he only inherits 35 to 40% of his grandmother's dna. To put them at close to the same age, Kaede would be the great granddaughter of the brother or sister of the mc's grandmother. Even if the sibling were a sister, the nephew would have about the same percentage of dna that the mc has. 35 to 40%. The mc and the nephew are second cousins. Kaede would actually be a "third" cousin. Since males only donate approximately 40% of a child's dna, Kaede ends up with only about 17% of the same dna as the mc. I know it sounds weird that it doesn't work out at even 20, 40, 60% figures, but it's kind of like memory blocks in ram. You know, 1024 bytes to a kilobyte. And if his grandma is his dad's mom, well, things get even more watered down. That's why marrying your second cousin is legal in all 50 states here in the U.S.. The risk of birth defects is negligible. In Japan it's actually legal to marry your first cousin, but it doesn't happen near as often as it did in the past.

What's so irritating about dubs and names is Japanese has only five vowel sounds. VAs also do things like say Rio for Ryo, or Riyuu for Ryuu. If saying Japanese names is one's job, they should learn the simple rules of Japanese pronunciation.

Second cousins dating?!?!?
@Tfire19926 ай бұрын
In japan you are even allowed to marry your first cousin (4th degree relation ~12.5% shared dna). As for second cousin (6th degree relation ~3.125% shared dna), I don't know any country where that wouldn't be allowed, since most allow you to reproduce starting with the 5th degree (great great uncle/nephew), though that's usually impractical due to age difference.
