Yeah, I've seen this kinda thing before. It's one thing to have trust issues and be skeptical, but letting your hate cloud you're judgement is a virgin incel move. But Asato realizing, "Well shit, she was a nice person and I was too much of a stubborn dumbass to see it." That gave him major Chad points when he realized he was wrong and more or less apologized to Saki. Also Saki is a Major Stacy, especially considering she never gave up, but honestly. I kinda wanted this to be a bittersweet, if he fucked up, and Saki found another him, he'd just have to live with that mistake of being to untrusting. Being hesitant is one thing, but being a paranoid little dodo about everyone is kinda.... much.

I actually like that tale; it reminds me of how I was back in school. One of the girls in my class was pretty much Saki in all but name : she was cute, smiling all the time and every guy in my class wanted to go out with her. But I didn't really bother to give her attention; I was kind in a down point at the time where I didn't care about anyone in my class and just focused on my studies. And her acting all cute while knowing she was popular was kind of grating, to be honest. The school organized dances every so often and one time, I was basically forced to go by my dad. Thing is, I didn't know how to dance so I figured I'd just sit and wait an hour or two before heading back home and just say I had fun (even though I didn't). During the evening, that girl came over and asked if I wanted to dance. I told her that I wasn't interested so she walked away. About 5 minutes later, another girl came over asking why I turned down the Saki-like girl's invitation to dance with her. To be fair, I never understood that she meant "to dance with her" and just thought she had meant just dancing in general. The girl told me the Saki-like girl was all disappointed and asked me if I didn't like her or find her pretty. I pretty much answered that "I didn't find her pretty in the way she thought she was" and left it at that. Pretty sure she was just taking pity on the guy sitting by his lonesome when everyone was dancing... or just acting out as the one to make a move to appear like the caring one but much like the protagonist, I found her to be shallow and annoying. We never were outwardly friendly to one another, even when I got out of my slump and depending on the moment and occasion, she might've been a bit morally supportive or distant over the years from grade school to high school. I never did expect anything out of her though so if at any point she had any genuine interest in me, it flew right over my head.

Here's a theory of mine: The accident part was a setup. Saki wanted to walk with Asato not because she felt happy but to execute her plan. That's why she didn't even talked with Asato while they were walking towards home because she was preparing herself for the scene. Saki's plan was to make Asato fall in love with her, and make him trust her. Given, that her family are strict and made her to learn all types of skills necessary to be a perfect wife, we could assume that her family is rich. So plotting up a fake accident will not be a hurdle to them. If you keep this theory in mind and watch the video after that accident scene, you will realise that her behaviour is somewhat peculiar and contradicting. She even made references that the accidental injury(sprain in her ankle) was a "lucky" injury that gave her the opportunity to get close to Asato.

I'm sorry, but while that could theoretically make sense, even though it's already a stretch, you also have to remember that this is a manga. Asato didn't recognize Saki even though the only thing that changed was the length of her hair after a year or so, something that is already a weird leap of logic. These manga are almost always made to be a nice heart-warming story of how an introvert got with the popular girl, so I think reading into this so much is a waste of time.

And just so that I'm not misunderstood, no being a introvert doesn't mean you have trust issues. You can have trust issues with others or with some aspects of life (like love in my case), because of self hatred (again, like in my case) or because of bad past experiences (like the case with the MC). Initially I thought the MC just hated himself (like me), and couldn't phantom why such a girl would realistically love someone like him, so naturally I thought he came to the conclusion that there must have been some malicious intent behind her approaches and the confession at the end. I know that It seems wierd and has incel vibes, but sadly this are the kind of dark thoughts that come up in our minds in such situations. Now, some cope with this dark thoughts by keeping them hidden in themselves and blame everything on themselves (like me), and some cope with them by lashing out at others and blaming others/society for their self hatred/low self esteem. Like I said, I'm the first type, so I thought the MC was like me in this aspect so I sympathized with him. Of course at the end I found out that wasn't the case, and he just had trust issues with others.

@King Well if looks is your issue then I have good new for you. Looks for the most part is just how much effort you put into yourself. Sure, there are some things that are genetically decided that you can't change but that's like 5% and the remaining 95% are decided by yourself. Do some workout to get or keep your body in shape. Ask your hairdresser if there's anything that would look good on you. Check what is fashionable to wear. And so on. Most people don't look good because they put no or just minimalistic effort into themselves. Because they're lazy. This channel is amazing. Another amazing and sweet story. I really like Asato and I don’t blame him for having that mindset. He thought Saki was just getting everyone to fawn over her because she probably wants to become the queen bee of the school. Popular girls in anime tend to ruin the MC’s life if they don’t look their way so he was very cautious. This is why in anime when a popular girl suddenly asks the boy out the boy should be smart to know that there’s an ulterior motive. A decent and enjoyable story

@@noobtrader9973 I did indeed watch the video, she pulled him out of the way once, which is something literally anybody can do to manipulate someone easier, the opportunity was surely there. She then could've faked the leg injury. It's something I'VE done before, not in the context of manipulating a romantic relationship, but I've literally pulled that same sort of shtick and know people believe the leg injury. As for him, he had no mistrust whatsoever, despite his constant insistence that he DIDNT trust her, DIDNT like her, and DIDNT want to be around her. Again, experienced this too, it doesnt just go away when you dislike somebody that much. His tone completely shifted post truck, and he stayed there in her room with her despite not trusting her or wanting to be there until she told the story. Then her story could've been ENTIRELY made up, even the part about her meeting him could've been told to her by the girl that ACTUALLY did meet him while she was looking into how to get to him.

You know what's funny? This story reminds me of how I was in middle school except the one and only girl who asked me out never tried again. I feel bad for her to because she came to ask me out during lunch, but being an edgy as I was in middle school I told her to go away in the coldest way possible.
