Well, sometimes when it comes to these childhood friend relationships, it's difficult for both individuals to simply see each other as a members of the opposite sex. Either it could be an attractive personality or an attractive appearance. Plus it sounded like Jonathan had his hair like that for a while now, so she never really got a properly good look at his face before. Not to mention, sometimes those relationships can be taken for granted, especially if it's from the girl's side.

This was a great story! Marin was always putting Johnathan down, always chasing the "good looking" guys. But Aina saw him for what he was. Yeah, like a lot of us he just wore what made him comfortable, his hair wasn't stylish, but underneath that mop was a diamond hiding in plain sight. And poor Marin, until Aina talked him into letting her dress him up, poor Marin couldn't see the forest for the trees. Oh well, that's what you get when you're so shallow.😏
