@@livinghuman2085 Basically, I’m a musician/singer. In high school I was fairly popular, although I primarily hung out with the “Nerds” because I really hate having shallow conversations with people, and “Nerds” are more or less my people. I’ve always been top of my grade, excelling in both academics and sports to a degree. She was a freshmen, I was a sophomore. She was new to the high school and found out about me, listened to my music and what not. We had lockers right next to each other so she asked me out because she thought I was cute and have an “amazing” voice. Her friends didn’t really know me, but because I wear glasses on the daily, I’m on the shorter side, skinny-looking (I’m really just lean, my body fat is nearly always less than 10%), I was taking advanced placement classes, my book bag was huge because of those classes and whenever I spoke to her (when her friends were around) I apparently sounded too professional and proper that they would call me a nerd or a hard-a$$. So they would basically gaslight her into believing them that I was a nobody and a loser and what not. She called me crying and asked me if we should break up and I told her “It’s all up to you. I like you, but you can do what you want to.” So we broke up. A few weeks later, her friends started texting me “Is this you”, sending me videos of my performances and stuff, looking at my social media and such because I have abs (I work out with my cousin’s who are definitely gym rats, even to this day). They started flirting with me every chance they got, as you know, lots of females groups are genuinely shallow, especially in high school. Then my “Ex” (If I should call her that because we dated for literally less that two weeks) contacted me and called me asking to get back together. I said “I don’t really appreciate this back and forth to be honest. Your friends are coming on to me like crazy, and honestly, if you believed friends like those, you should take a good look at yourself. I honestly cannot get back with someone so petty and shallow. Tell your friends to stop talking to me because I don’t need any of that. Bye.” And there you go. Surprisingly she turned a new leaf. She blocked that friend group, started hanging out with library committee people. She started taking more advanced classes and actually graduated in the same class as me (she was a Junior, but graduated because she had enough credits). She would text me on occasion and I would respond cordially, but the one time she asked me if I would ever get back with her, I told her that I already have someone (Who I’ve been with for 9 years this year). She moved on, still single, but she’s doing pretty solid in life and we talk from time to time cordially, asking how life is going and what not. But I am happy with my life right now and very happy with the person I am with.

Now THIS is good writing. Kaede's common sense was placed in a toxic belief that social status is everything, while Isui had the sense that social status is temporary, or just didnt matter. It's a common back and forth in these types of stories that i still dont understand to this day, but i think was done so well because of one thing: HESITATION. The fact that Kaede was having an inner conflict the whole video, but kept on losing to the idea that her friend's opinions mattered more than the love of her life. Now tell me: Who would you care for more? The friends you met JUST NOW? Or the relationship you had with someone since MIDDLE SCHOOL? Cherish your loved ones, people. My favorite example was when he asked: "Why did you decide to date me?" It's a simple powerful spell. And she couldn't answer. But it made her slowly realize what she'd been doing to their relationship. Pretty neat of a lesson in relationships. "Why are we in this relationship?" is the question this video brings up, and one we should all think of when we are in one ourselves

She also at least apologized with her friends, though I'm also not saying what she did is ok either. But asking for someone to change isn't bad, but this situation was not one of the times it would be appropriated, at least in the eyes of others. To her, at the time, she felt she was losing someone she truly loved but was also afraid of being teased and bullied by people for who he is. Considering how side characters are in these romcoms.

We of course can't really predict what kind of reaction they'll have though. Yeah. Japanese culture being what it is, not announcing that you are dating can apparently be pretty normal, especially early, even going so far as to make minor efforts to hide the fact. So the initial decision to keep it from their parents isn't that much of a red flag, but the decision to keep actively hiding it at school rather than just not announcing it in this context, when it is clear it isn't about a desire for privacy and instead about her being embarrassed by him, is a major red flag. And still actively hiding it over a year later is an even bigger issue.

Watching as Mamiya finally spoke up about his feelings regarding the matter, and in front of multiple people was extremely satisfying. That same introverted geek that they'd been looking down on now had the upper hand, and moral high ground. Kaede, and Mamiya could have had something great, but she was too caught up in herself, and her appearances to appreciate that, going so far as to tell him to change so that she wouldn't look bad. Mamiya was extremely fortunate to have found someone like Usui when he did, someone that could appreciate him for all he is, and shares the same preferences. I loved how both Mamiya, and Usui were to some degree aware of the harsh remarks surrounding them, and how they couldn't care less, just living in the moment. The two made a wonderful couple, and seeing these two be so open to furthering their relationship instead of shying away from it was a nice change of pace. I really respected Mamiya for at least trying to keep the relationship together, but ultimately him calling off their relationship, and moving on to someone better made me like him even more, definitely a favorite of mine, top 10 MMC. Top tier couple, and story as well, definitely top 25

This is indeed one of the best story that I ever watched in romcom stories! The new girl accepts the MC who he really is and he doesn't need to change for the better! And she is there when the MC is down at the most. And they even have same interest as well. Two person with opposite gender accept each other on who they are and what they have will have good relationship and will overcome any difficulties and challenges in their love life! I'm so glad the MC rejects her Childhood EX who didn't accept him to who he is due to her status and fame. She chose fame over her childhood friend! She also listen to her friend's advice than to be with his childhood friend which is why the MC didn't like her anymore! Great ending! 10/10!

While yes, her friends do carry a lot of the blame for peer pressuring her into the decisions she made, she didn't once stand up to them for the MC and always tried to hide their relationship or change him so she wouldn't be "embarrassed" by people knowing they're dating. Even if we take the friends out of the equation, she really isn't any better. In due time, something would've swayed her to break up with him. It's just that her "friends" pressured her into doing it sooner rather than later. Now MC has a girl that loves him for who he is and that's what he deserves.

As much as it hurt me to see Kaede lose Mamiya to Usui in the end, she deserved it. She let her "friends" influence her and make her value unimportant things like one's standing in school get in the way of her true feelings. She chose "social status" over the friend she loved since middle school. She loved him, but she lost him the minute she betrayed him, literally thanks to Usui seizing the opportunity after her betrayal. And now Mamiya has a girl who'll never betray him in Usui. And the two can be happy together as they both genuinely love one another ahd don't let petty things like "reputation" get in the way of their true feelings. The best ending for Kaede is to throw away those "friends" who caused all this because they were responsible for destroying her relationship. Maybe someday she'll find love, but it's never going to be with Mamiya. And their friendship is pretty much over thanks to her. They certainly won't be able to look at each other, much less do anything friends do, ever again. I feel for Kaede, but she made this mistake, and she paid the price for it. Now Mamiya has Usui, and she won't hide her true feelings or let others influence her.

Agreed. Kaede took bad advice and lost her chance with Mamiya. She only showed interest in him when she saw how lovey dovey he was with Usui. It seemed like a classic case of 'wanting what you can no longer have'. Mamiya finally gave her a reality check and moved on. He didn't harbor bitterness towards her, but told her they could never be a couple. She seemed to understand her mistake and accepted what was. Even her friends seemed remorseful because they even apologized to Kaede and also to Mamiya. That in itself made this story unique. In most cases shallow people never learn nor admit wrong doing. Maybe they can be real friends and try to honestly help her without instilling petty values.

Kaede was too afraid to risk being seen with Hiromu in public, as that would risk hurting her public image at school = red flag there. She tried to make him change himself more for her own benefit and not taking his feelings into consideration. Didn’t help her that he wanted to remain true to himself. Pushing him away didn’t do anything for her except allow Mio to slip in and befriend him. Once Kaede realizes that another girl is seriously moving in on Hiromu, too late by that point, as he’s moved on and found someone who accepts him as he is.

She only said this after she how tight they were becoming. Kaede got full of herself because she was pretty and became extremely popular. She got lost in her popularity, and paid a heavy price. A price she wasn't willing to pay. Hiromu had a right to move on, as he did. Usui loved for what he was. Not as he could be. Kaede couldn't do that. She finally understood her fault, but it was too late to make amends. Usui and Hiromu made a better couple.

Unlike Kaede, Usui liked Hiromu as he was. Thus, she lost him to her. This might have been a good thing for her. Losing Hiromu might have woken her up from her delusions. She was becoming spoiled and egotistical which would have ultimately ruined her life had she continued. Usui and Hiromu found happiness in each other, and Kaede got a valuable life lesson.

Usui won thankfully, because she let her true out to the one she was interested in, and in short, got what she wanted. Kaede's a superficial bitch.

Why should you feel bad for her? She still left Mamiya out to dry when she could've been honest. She proved that she doesn't deserve him. Usui however, proved through her actions that she cares about him. She shared his interest in Manga/anime, and even chose to cook for him. Usui was loyal, she genuinely loved Mamiya, and in turn, Mamiya returned those feelings. It was those gestures from Usui herself that won him over. Kaede was too late to win him back, especially after the times she ghosted him.

Something I particularly like about this story is that Kaede is not cartoonishly evil. She is a very flawed person who eventually comes to terms with and accepts the consequences of her actions. I am very happy with the story's outcome. She had hurt Hiromu, so their getting back together would not be appropriate, but she will hopefully take the lessons she learned here into any future relationship.

Finally, a MC who is loyal to his true self instead of changing his appereance to be accepted. This video was great because of the moral of being ourselfs. What's the point in living in a society that promotes individuality if for each time a person with a different taste or appereance the rest, the alleged "normal" and/or "popular", judge that someone like some kind of freak? And don't cone with "they're teenagers. Young and don't know better" (in aonther video from another chanel, sorry dont remember the name, a teacher believed that and just let the MC to suffer bully at the hands of his classmates). That's stupid and, honestly, a bit of gross. We are what we are, and we should be proud of that and try find common ground with those who have different hobbies. Those can be some of the best friendships or even couples. The FMC is also great for being honest from the start and now they are a beautiful couple inside and out. About the ex and her friends, at least they realised what they did wrond, felt remorse and express their sorrys to the MC. So... let's hope they learned to change their ways, or at least to be more tolerante. Great video, always whatching for new ones

Mamiya and Kaede could have had a good future together if Kaede wasn't listening to her so called friends because I feel like Kaede's friends weren't really her friends at all and just made her insecure about her feelings for Mamiya instead of just being open ans accepting for who she truly is which lead her to losing someone who was a good person. But now Mamiya has someone who truly accepts him. The ending did feel satisfying though and im glad Kaede's friends were actually able to comfort her instead of putting so much pressure on her and Mamiya and Mio are cute together

Thankfully, Usui proved her loyalty not just through shared interests, but her actions like being there for him, and even going as far as cooking for him. Usui was kind, supportive, and uplifting. Hence why she won Mamiya in the end.

My only issue with this video was it was not longer!! But seriously, this was a very nice dramatic story with a very satisfying ending. The ex at least understood that she was in the wrong, but she definitely figured way too late. IF there was no Usui-san type of girl who liked Mamiya for who he was, Kaede would never have changed and continuously would make Mamiya feel miserable. I'm glad that Mamiya was an MC that could clearly speak his mind on more than one occasion.

This is a really good episode on game. Also they are kids so I keep that in mind. So let's talk about it. The only mistake I've seen Hiromu do was not check Kaede when she 1st said not to tell anyone. Nope! At least he could have told his parents. But at the end it worked out for the best. I'm glad he finally did check her and she needed to get her feelings hurt. Kaede needed a behavior check and to be put in the friendzone. If she doesn't change and fix this now, it will become worse as she gets older. Kaede wasnt wrong in caring about her image or telling Hiromu to make himself more presentable. Her reasoning and way she went about it was. It wasn't to benefit him, but herself. She's very selfish and needed to be put in her place. I don't think she is a bad person, but I sure haven't seen her do anything for Hiromu once. At least from this video. It was only when Usui started talking to him that she saw him being a geek didn't stop him from attracting a beautiful girl. Or him making friends in the class. She started having cognitive dissonance and her view on social hierarchy was shattered. Had she been around friends not as naive as she was or spoke with her parents then she would have been enjoying Hiromu as her man and not being friendzoned. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. Usui has done nothing but showed with both her words and actions that she is the best girl for Hiromu. She comforted him. Defended him by checking Kaede (which should have been her job) for being disrespectful and disloyal. They already had similar interests, but she also feed him and showered him with affection. And let it be known by kissing him in front of everyone and saying she loves him. Kaede couldn't compete with that until her pride was completely shattered. This was a very good episode and the VA's really pulled you into the story.
