I can understand why the MC was thinking this way. Other than school factors, everyone was to blame including him for losing patience. I used to be the same when I was young. Flaring up or that feeling of irritation when your relatives speak up, thinking they're just being annoying. But in reality, I can see the big sis trying to tough up for her younger brother. Sure, she could've took things differently, but the MC still had that impatient flaring up attitude, thinking what her sister said was insults, when it's not. I used to think the same when my mom did such things. Only when I became older did I realize she meant no harm in the things she said. I felt so stupid and regretful. Everyone's time is limited in this world, you don't know when your loved one could be gone, and you may realize it too late when you've lost the only person who cared because of your immaturity. Learn to be patient, friends.

First time I see an antagonist saying sorry and that decided to change for the better. Also...I hate the sister. I HATE the way she behaved earlier and she behaves now, almost like if the MC "is in debt with her" (and the line she used when those were in high school, says a lot...). I do understand she behaved in a certain way to avoid "trouble" him more...but until a certain point. "I'll keep to respect her, despite the distance...even if from the perspective of a stranger, we may seem distant" Ok genius, let me tell you a few things: "respecting" each other doesn't mean KEEPING THE MOUTH SHUT DURING THE "Insults period" (the school one, in which she basically keep the mouth shut...), or after the father's dead acting like if "NOTHING HAPPENED" (I mean: why didn't she even try to talk to him properly...?). Damn, considering the work she does, in THEORY she should know better than anyone the importance of "communication" ...and instead nothing. Honestly, if even after school she keps to act like the "Who even is this guy?" behavior (aside the ending of the story), I believe it's personal. "It's not my style being all affectionate"

are you for real? The sister was never harsh to the MC. That's just her personality on looking and sounding serious. I guess it's because I had the same experience as the MC with my mom. The Sister wasn't being harsh, she voiced out her frustrations because people were comparing her brother to her, as someone who has big sisters, trust me, no big sister wants people to look down on their little brother. My sisters would beat the shit out of people if they where mean to me. And when she protested against her brother's decision, it was because she loved and cared for him, she wanted him to follow his dreams because if he was happy, then it would also make her happy. that's basically what family love is.

I still don’t understand in which part of “rushing into things” and “sometimes it won’t work” was considered an insult. That’s why it is not good to rush things, you always miss something important. Had Minoru put a stop to his thoughts to consider what Mio was saying, he could realize that she was worried, but in his rush, he just took it as an insult and stopped listening more. Sometimes you don't want or need people to question your decisions. The question implies incompetence. Honestly I'm far more upset at the father. He never should have let it be known how he felt about the glass business. Minoru quit school to run that business because he felt obligated to do so. If I was him I would have demanded that he finish his degree as he originally intended if he was going to take over the business.

But since we are seeing this from the MC’s perspective, plus we see that he’s constantly being compared to her, she may come across as colder than usual. It’ll definitely change the way we interpret things when we receive words of advice from someone that people compare us to. I have a friend like Mio, she’s cold, blunt, and has a look that says she doesn’t really care about things and our human psychology teacher called her pragmatic. But since we only have a few bits and pieces of the story and not the full story, it really is left up to us to interpret things. If you look at the comments people are split on their opinions regarding Mio. I’m on the Mio is the cold but caring type side. A setting like this would definitely be more flushed out if these were an LN.
