Manga Reprint Rumors Cause One Piece Market CRASH! Do this NOW?!

For clarity OP sets 1-4 manga are likely different from these reprints containing no stamp and star on the cards. It's not certain with the current leaks, but appears the cards might have the same star and stamp on the cards meaning there could be no differentiator between PRB01 and 05 set and above manga cards. We will know for certain within the next week as more pictures are released. Regardless, the prices are what they are and a good opportunity for those who believe in the TCG.

If you bought high and believe in OP, then just lower your cost basis by buying the same amount of boxes or more at the low as you did at the high, just like stocks or anything else. You buy 4 boxes at $400, you're in $1600 and cost basis is $400 a box, now you buy 4 boxes $100 a box and your costs basis is $100 a box on those, so by buy an equal amount at the low you've lowered your overal cost per box down to $250 (2000/8 or 500/2), you lower your cost basis per box by $150 just by spending 1/4th of what you did at the high.

a lot of people whining about Bandai reprinting them. Personally I'm happy to see scalpers get screwed over. People buy bunch of cases and sit on them, just to sell them later. But with this move it'll devalue the older boxes down to more normal prices. On top of that, so what if manga rares are reprinted. Look at how often the base set Charizard is reprinted in pokemon. The 1st edition, shadowless and unlimited still go for a a lot of money.

True. Reprints are good for those who want to collect. As I said, now is a buying opportunity if you believe in the TCG. I think what people are scared of is that the sets 5 and beyond manga might be the exact same card in the Premium set. Hard to tell at this time, but sets 1-4 manga for sure are different without any stamp on them.

I understand reprinting cards for players. But reprinting cards for collectors (manga cards) are not a good move on their part. Collectors won't be happy. Players don't need manga cards to play. I don't see a logic in this...

There are differences between the original Manga arts and the reprints. If manga arts go down, then more people would be willing to collect them.

At the end of the day it’s a kids card game. You’re pricing card board at inflated prices and the company doesn’t see any of those market prices. The booster boxes and packs aren’t even sold at MSRP so to finally reach those prices as a consumer is a good thing. Scalpers and “collectors” are the only ones that will be crying about reprints. For liking one piece, a lot of y’all act like celestial dragons

Okay so the reason the Luffy Stamp is slightly higher is because his Sub Types are really long (4 Emperors/ Straw Hat Crew) the stamp wouldn’t fit in the usual spot it’s not tryna be different the reprint stamp will be in the same spot

That makes sense. Sets 1-4 manga are pretty safe with no stamp, but the reprints will still dampen the demand for them. As long as this is the final reprint of them, OP can still recover.

I agree. Especially the older sets. A lot of Manga are being reprinted, but I know for sure sets 1-4 don't have a Stamp in the left corner. Not sure about what stamp is used for the reprints, but it almost looks the same. I would hope Bandai uses a way to differentiate between the reprint and the original. 🤦‍♂

The game is new. The game is finally getting popular. Collectors should have seen this coming. But, Bandai should have done a 1st Edition run for collectors. Just got into the game, because of the price drops i was able to get my deck for $100, buying only singles. Compared to $250 a couple of weeks ago. Also maybe only 3/10 card stores in my region has singles collection to sell, which makes really hard to get into the game.

So would the manga cards without the stamp be worth more than the ones with the stamp? Maybe something similar to Pokémon with 1st edition or base set, shadowless etc ? If all this is true prb-01 will destroy the game mangas will be worth nothing basically nothing exciting to chase. If it’s true one manga per case everyone and their cousin will have a manga this would destroy one piece they’ll be worthless nobody will buy previous sets and Bandai will loose big money I don’t think they want that loss

In theory yes, the non stamps would be worth more. Kind of like the blue bottom vs white bottom Romance Dawn boxes. However, anything 05 and above might not be able to be distinguished.

wondering if the manga reprint is taking the sp slot in a case or not which would make it 1 per case in japanese and 2 in english. makes me think of a 151 set difficulty x2 for completionist collectors

That's very interesting. It would make sense with what we've been seeing with the English TCG. Boxes have more pulls for English generally speaking. That would be pretty crazy then to have 2 per case!

Heavy reprints, op01 & 02 most store got at least a case. OP05 & 06 there was nice allocations for the reprints. Between 1-10 cases for stores. OP06 has the worst mapping and pulls out all the sets imo. Mangas 1 per case for pbr01 OG mangas might drop around 30%. FUD hitting hard too.

I really hope the pull rates aren't that high. The rumor is 1 per case, but fingers crossed it's the same pull rates we are used to.

This is Bandai, did anyone expect any different lol. If it is 1 manga per case like rumored, then all reprinted ones will be diluted save for Nami. Probably not that big of a deal depending on overall volume. Great for folks who want them cheap (like me) 😂 More concerning is how would this really stop scalpers, who now know exactly which set to scalp. Also, my feeling is whoever still collects for actual rarity, the way to go is the alt art leaders and SPs that aren't reprinted.

Its bad. Bandai will understand after a couple of set releases. They'll back track with a statement in a years time. Manga Rares do need to be a bit cheaper but reprinting them directly is bad. You lose the trust Personally i think, they just want to add the stamp and increase the ratio population to suit the games increase in players. i think they'll release a statement explaining that they just want to add more into the population due to the increase in popularity for the game and they won't reprint them again cause they now know how much of the current sets to print to meet demand. But who knows. Could just kill the game tbf loll

I think you are talking about with display booster, those are a sealed box of the 2 pack bundles? Like 8 in a case so 16 packs total.

I haven't really invested heavily in one piece but this is a terrible idea. I understand a reprint of a set, like romance dawn and slapping a 2nd edition on the cards, but reprinting 10 of the Mangas rares from multiple sets and sticking them in a new set is an awful idea. It basically kills all their old sets, cause why would you pick up one of those boxes when you can just pick up a set with a higher pull rate of multiple Mangas. I understand scalpers are raising the prices on the high rarity cards, but what do you think is going to happen with this set? They are going to not print enough as usual and scalpers are going to have a field day. Also when they decide to release another manga rare, why would I buy a booster box of that new set and not just wait for the reprint? This type of behavior from bandai is going to kill this tcg, you need players and collectors. Really glad I didn't invest in this set, almost bought a manga at one point, glad I didn't. Will continue to play the game since it's fun, but will collect other tcg cards but not this one.

@@ant_989 it’s not one in 20 cases. It was the same pull rate for a manga in op05, being maybe 1 in 4 cases. That’s the reason it wasn’t as expensive as manga luffy because for the mangas it was 1 in 4, then another probability of 1 in 3 because there were three mangas so luffy was 1 in 9 cases technically

if the prices go down because of reprints of boxes, make sense, but you have to understand that the prb mangas have PRB-01 stamp on them except nami manga, they will be a cheaper manga version. It is like an SP card, one case 1 SP (in this case PRB stamped mangas). Players do actually want to use manga cards to play/flex, so this does provide the solution. So if you are actually sellling your mangas because of PRB stamped mangas coming out, thats like selling first edition charizard when they have reprinted so many versions of it. Please stop spreading false information.

Pretty sure I said that we'll know more when the set is released. For now, the sets before 05 seem pretty clear to be different cause they don't have the One Piece Stamp. I couldn't say for certain that the reprints will have the PRB-01 stamp or not since the images given at this time is hard to tell but said it would be poor marketing if that was the case. Do you have a source that it is for certain a different stamp than the one we've seen?

We'll see. Box prices have tanked so naturally the manga will follow. How much it drops really depends on the Manga pull rates at this point. Rumor of 1 per case is crazy high. Hoping it's the same pull rates we've always had.
