The other two manga mentioned in this video are well worth the read, but Frieren Beyond Journey's end is something special. It is the sort of story that will stay with you long after you have finished reading it. Even though it starts with the most generic elements you can come up with for a bog-standard fantasy adventure story, it takes those same drab ingredients and turns them into a truly unique and beautiful exploration of how a nigh immortal being learns how to come to terms with the ephemeral nature of the world around her and the people she comes to care as she continues her journey through the ages. Frieren is a German word that means frozen and like a glacier, she slowly sculpts and is sculpted by the world as she passes through it. Although the story of our ancient protagonist is a fittingly slow burn, an overarching plot is gradually revealed as all the small bittersweet slice-of-life moments build toward a far grander purpose. After all, what is an end, but the beginning of what comes next? Also, although I wish to avoid any sort of spoilers I have to at least give a shout-out to this story for having such a unique and fresh take when it comes its portrayal of Demons.

moriarty the patriot is sooo good and its sad that its underrated. everything i want in a story is in that book! I love how you Love Albert. For me I love William (main character) but Albert is special to me.

Hey you've probably read the rest of Frieren. Just to clarify for people who are just coming across this video, Frieren is an elf and that's why she is immortal. Fern is however a human mage who can age and pass away just like Himmel. Frieren consciously choose to care about Fern because she doesn't want to repeat the mistake of not spending enough time with her previous comrades whom she realizes made a significant impact in her very long life. The manga is so beautiful and has reached a very exciting arc right now (though it's on hiatus at the moment). It is also getting an anime adaptation this year

FRIEREN is one of the best manga I've ever read. It was a HUGE hit in France (where the story is summarized as "la douleur d’être immortel"---the pain of being immortal). FRIEREN won the Grand Prize at the 2021 Manga Taishō awards, and it was just adapted as a beautiful anime, with a lovely musical score. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGeXZKd7ntuhic0 It clearly deserves 5 stars (maybe 6).

You might like "For the kid I saw in my Dreams". The main character survived the slaughter of his family and is out for revenge. And i only read the first volume and - cliffhanger aside - as soon a you put down the volume you realise how much of his revenge plan does not line up with the information we were given. And boy, is this guy in trouble.

If you like Moriarty the patriot. I recommend you read Black Butler. People tend to stop reading it because they say it's boring after reading a few chapters but imo, the storyline is well-written, the artstyle is beautiful, the characters are amazing, the plot twists are surprising and the series tends to be darker as you read it. The series follows the young boy named Ciel Phantomhive, the Earl of the Phantomhive house serving as the Queen's Watchdog. He is tasked with solving crimes in the underworld of Victorian era London. Ciel has formed a contract with demon Sebastian Michaelis, who disguises himself as his butler, to seek revenge on those who tortured him and murdered his parents. I don't know if you gonna like it or not but you gotta give it a try. It is so good and it is my favorite manga of all time. I also suggest you to read Vinland Saga, Spy x family and hell's paradise.

yesh manga content!!!! This is something I've been looking forward to! 🥰 Please try these following titles for your taste test or manga blind test content, Katie: (oh yeah these babies are S tier so pick what ever you want I just curios abt you reaction and opinion of these mangas) 1. Dr. Stone: sci-fi, genius boy, restoring/rebuilt civilization from the scratch, the world fucked up, humanity and civilization destroyed, myterious green beaamm, fun stories, lotsss of plot twists, great charactersss, heck, this manga is also funny. I can't stop reading this, it's a quick read and the type of story I could read all day. 2. Tokyo Revengers: gang, delinquent, fights, friendship, quite sad, lots of death, setting in modern real world, time travel, sooo many plot twists, top notch mystery, romance. (Please ignore the fact that they are junior high school kids and imagine all of the characters to be adults or at least college students, and you'll have a better time reading these [psst bcs of this aspect, sometimes got goosebumps, cringe! gotta admit tht] lol) but the questionable unsolved mystery, main character who is desperate to change the future justt solid A for me) 3. haikyu! : manga about sports! Top of the top, number one sports manga, solid characters, solid stories, solid game competition, solid volleyball presentation, solid team mates, solid competitor, solid humor (occasionally) yeah, it's just perfect!! (Sports manga is usually difficult to get into, especially if you know nothing about volleyball like me, but once you get through this, I promise you'll be hooked.) 4. Assassination class room: meaningful stories, quite sad ending, alien homeroom teacher, a class full of kids training to be assassins, action, school setting. 5. Yona of the Dawn: historical setting, slow burn romance, adventure, fantasy, princess trying to reclaim her throne, seeking power, epic stories, well-developed characters. (these manga are hard to find)

Oh congratulations, you finally got to enjoy the feeling of finding Gems in a sea of mediocrity currently plaguing the Manga industry for the past decade 😘😘😘 oh this feeling is so GOOOOOD. Komi is a wholesome Manga, so It's very comfy and heart lifting to read. Moriaty the Patriot is a Gem like no other, I just love it so much and the Anime is actualy a great adaptation so I suggest you watch it as well. I would love it if you could check out Dorohedoro and Vinland Saga, they're one the best pieces of literature I have ever come across, and I'm not talking just in Manga. 👼👼👼

i would bet money on you not liking komi. but, if you're open to a genre like this, you must read ouran host club. it's a classic and it's amazing! it starts with a day-to-day type shit but then plot happens and it's like oh shit. but the character are so great and the relationships and the found family and just everything about it. it's amazing [also the mc is lowkey gender queer. like it's not on page because helo japan, early 2000s, what are you talking about] but it's like... obvious enough. the way haruhi talks about herself and how she really doesn't understand gender concepts in a lot of instances, especially when applied to herself. for the time aand the place it was written in, it's there 🧚🧚 but also! since you liked moriarty, i'm going to go ahead and suggest black butler again. black butler is going to be your shit, i just know it. like if i'm wrong, then i don't know anything. xD

okay, to your comment about that character from komi -- that's a thing in manga. more often than not there is a boy character who dresses as a girl and tries to come off as a girl but them sometimes would be like "fuck off, i'm a boy, i just like pretty things". thats just a manga trope. it always existed because japan has a thing from pretty boys [i know it sounds bad but it's not supposed to]. and there is often this thing of "you're so pretty, just like a girl" or "you're so pretty, just like a doll". and then the pretty boy actually dressing up as a girl is a variation on that trope. sometimes they would try to take it more seriously. like in kaicho wa maid-sama [which btw i wold also recommend but i think you might find the main relationship... to not be for you, it's very japan-tropy] the boss of the cafe where the mc is working has a nephew who dresses as a girl and it's taken more seriously and it's an actual plot line. in the one i recommended earlier the main girl dresses as a guy and it's handled better than one would expect. but it's also not rare for it just be that side character who is a pretty boy dressing as a girl and going back and forth between how he actually identifies and that's just japan and manga and they aren't trying to neither showcasing an identity not be offensive about it. it's just a character archetype. same as western literature has character , archetypes. like the gay best friend. or the manic pixie dream girl, you know.
