I read One More Step right when my preorder came in and then donated it almost immediately! Then the reading vlogs and reviews came out and everybody loved it….glad that I wasn’t the only one to not really connect with the stories.

Everyone said how heart-wrenching and emotional the last story was but it just made me angry… and the rest of the stories were mostly romance-based so I was never going to like those anyway. At least the art was nice lol

I don't know what to do with some of the series I have. All I know is there are a lot of series I have that need rereading and then will try to decide if I really want to keep some of them. The secret is for me to stop buying 😅 I did purchase an old oop series and it's surprising how well I remembered most of it, and what an underwhelming ending...that now I'm like, why did I buy it, why do it to myself!

If I can’t get the motivation to sell them on eBay or something I might just donate them to my library. I value the shelf space more than the money I would get back from reselling them.

Yeah I love the covers, it’s a shame that the art in the digital version looks better than the physical version so I can’t justify keeping it

I've got a nice stack of about 50 volumes ready to unhaul also. If you haven't gotten rid of Dark Gathering I'd be interested. I'm not normally a SJ fan but that one looked interesting to me.

I don’t collect anything that can be read through Shonen Jump. I have too much manga already and any space I can save I will. If I really want to support the creator I can always buy the volumes digitally.

I won’t buy anything digitally unless it’s DRM-free or it’s the only possible way to read it (oop series, for example). I don’t mind reading through the Shonen Jump app but if it’s something I think I’ll reread then I like having a physical copy.

By the time I got to reading the last volume, Ive never consistently rolled my eyes so hard and so much, reading manga before. Such superest (no not a real word, but I'ma use it anyways) of the corniest of cheese, I think I became lactose-intolerant 😂 Such a slog to try and get through. Definitely went straight into my unhaul box of manga the second I closed the last page. PS : You need to totally give Children of the Whales a second chance Toni, you ❤️ less manga monster 🤬 JOKING! JOKING!!! It's a joke 😆 Don't come for me, I just couldn't help myself there😅

I don’t mind cheesy as you probably know, I just felt like the story was way too short to tackle the world-ending stakes it introduced. I can definitely go back and continue Children of the Whales if you want me to rant about it more lol

With a lot of these series, I usually feel like they are good and enjoyable but not really memorable? I enjoyed reading Laughing under the clouds and One more step but I just feel like they are not oustanding enough for me to own a copy. Same for so many shorter BLs.

Yep, there are many series I feel that way about. Unfortunately I don’t have enough shelf space for all the “pretty good” series I’ve read.
