The one thing that not enough people are talking about is the existence of higher level beings and different realms in the JJK universe. Apparently that old lady with the seance technique says that she does her best not to summon the information of the soul. Which clearly means souls do exist in some way or another after the death of the body. Is there an afterlife? Like hell or heaven? And who makes the heavenly restrictions? Who governs the binding vows? Some sort of higher level being perhaps?

The way I'm seeing it is that all soul damage is sort of the same, Yuji's punches, Mahitos idle transfiguration, and the Soul Split Katana all physically impact and shape the soul, with Mahito its just far more effective. The rct to heal yourself after this damage is simply being familiar enough with your soul to know its shape and use cursed energy to tell your soul to return to that shape. With this logic healing after being transfigured is possible, the issue is even if we say this is how it works and even somehow Yuji gains the ability to RCT someone else, he couldn't heal Nobara or Todo because hes not as familiar with the shape of their soul as he is of his own.

the way I imagine Mahito's transfiguration is "Can you heal a lost baby tooth? No. It isn't damage, it is an intentional metamorphosis" with Idle Transfiguration carrying the same degree of intention. Healing it would revert to Mahito's design, not the original. In Todo's case I believe his hand turned into a literal bomb. Do not recommend healing that.

that being said, he is shown to be able to use Boogie Woogie with other people's hands. It would probably work with a prosthetic infused with cursed energy. Additionally, cursed techniques are influenced by the user's perception, the world splitting slash is a rough example, and depending on the verbatim actuation mechanism of boogie woogie, it may be able to be achieved with a snap if Todo thinks about it. Regardless, he didn't get written out because his technique broke, he got written out because gege didn't want to kill him. Let him rest lmao

I think the connection between innate domain, the soul, and the body is one of the things that will likely be heavily elaborated on as we get closer to the conclusion of the series. I think "true jujutsu" is understanding and mastering ones innate domain and thus the soul, and thus the body. There is a reason a domain expansion - the pinnacle of jujutsu - is manifesting ones innate domain in reality via a barrier and the addition of a cursed technique. The latter gets most of the attention, but the former is likely just as critical.

Also, you can choose whether you want to inflict soul damage upon someone or not so sukuna most likely doesn't do soul damage with his slashes to everyone as he likes to play with his food and his normal slashes are potent enough to kill you even without soul being involved. (*Means he can, but doesn't need to in 99% situations. unless its mahito who's involved)

if sukuna is doing soul damage with his slashes and gojo was healing his slashes with RCT. this either means sukuna doesn't/can't infuse soul damage into his technique, gojo can heal the soul or possibily sukuna must use a special chant/bonding vow to infuse soul damage into his technique and can't just do it with every attack like yuji.

On that last part, i think you are right but we learn later on that "damage to" and "sould reshaping" be basically the same thing. Like, once Yuji or Yuta unlock the other they need, they basically have Idle Transfiguration Actually, that would make a lot of narrative sense in yuji's case. It'd be the final step of the "I'm You" TBH, i see Yuji doing that and having a flashback to saying "I'm You"

The only way to even get that arm back is to be able to reshape your soul and make your soul have two arms basically. The reason you cant heal from idle transfiguration is because theres just nothing to heal from now

If your tear a piece of paper in half, it is changing the shape of the paper, is it not? We already know that reverse cursed technique can heal the soul if the user is aware of the soul, because we have seen Sukuna heal his own soul despite his soul after it was damaged. When Mahito used Idle Transfiguration to kill Nobara and Nanami, their shapes didn't simply change, parts of their body were literally destroyed in a bloody explosion. The same thing happened to Todo's arm during Mahito's 0.2 second domain expansion. This destruction of the soul is similar to the tearing of paper that I brought up earlier. Changing the shape of the soul in order to cause damage CAN probably be healed using reverse cursed technique. Going off of the three things I brought up previously, I do believe that Itadori could very well use reverse cursed technique in order to heal other peoples' souls and bodies. Now, using that same logic you could also theorize that Itadori and Sukuna are both capable of using a form of Idle Transfiguration because they're changing the shape of souls using reverse cursed technique, but I think that's not the case. What's more likely is that by using reverse cursed technique, the most you can do is revert things back to the way they were supposed to be, ie. turning a missing hand into a not missing hand.

Mahito is dead for good. He technique was extracted and he was exorcised when Kenjaku used Maximum Uzumaki in Shibuya. There will be another curse born from mankind's hatred of itself, just like there will be another born from fear of volcanoes, nature, and the ocean, but they won't have the memories. Meaning Mahito as we know him was killed Shibuya. This is what Jogo meant when he was talking about them meeting again in 100 years and them not being the same.
