I saw this theory elsewhere, but illumi could be going to the dark continent in order to get an Ai to use like Nanika. However, he is part of the phantom troupe not only because they have the same destination, but because he needs to protect Kalluto from Hisoka and other Black Whale dangers. The reason he needs Kalluto is so that he can serve as a host for the Ai, just like Alluka. Idk why Kalluto would be the host, but it probably has to do with Illumis weird way of showing love for his family.

Kalluto joined because he wanted test his strength while Illum joined because he was contracted by Hisoka. Hisoka paid him to hunt him as crazy as it sound.

Honestly I feel like Feitan being a lost Zoldyck was an idea that Togashi had but eventually scrapped. Considering how old the Phantom Troupe members seem to be not to mention Feitan being at Meteor City during the Chrollo flashback as well as Alluka being introduced later on in the story. I don’t really see how timeline wise how Feitan being a member of the Zoldyck family at least as a brother to Killua or Alluka would make much sense. Unless if he’s older than Illumi.

I guess with the conclusion of the negotiation game, we are heading towards shifting the perspective again and I bet we are going to see Kurapika's classes, with that, a new chance of a Silent Majority strike. Thoughts on who is the Silent Majority's user? I know is a little off but I like the theory it's Milluki. He is way too deep into dolls, and he does his k1lling far away from targets. Also, his dark hair, could mean he is a manipulator as his brothers... The pieces come together, the only thing missing is if he can manipulate the doll that far away or if he is on the ship!

One thing that is crazy to think for me is that Illumi seems to strictly follow the rule that if you aren't sure you can win a fight you should run away, like he told Killua. So that makes me really intrigued to think if Illumi really did accept Hisoka's mission to attempt assassinating him, that must mean Illumi is fully confident he can succeed, which shows how strong he really must be. Although, like manganimist said Illumi could just be betting on the fact that another one of the spiders finishes the job, so he's not very worried about the battle.

Illumi also isn't exactly alone. So it could be possible that if illumi finds himself unable to kill hisoka he could just run away and then come back with other people. See, that's the tricky thing. But the other tricky thing is will hisoka let illumi do that

A possible explanation for how it could “save” killua is that kalluto wants killua to be free from the family business and by rising to the top of the phantom troupe, kalluto proves his worth and to prove wouldn’t need killua anymore which could leave him to do whatever. Not the best theory and I’m sure there are plenty of holes you could poke into it but it was the first possibility that came to mind

I think with Kakin Succession on the Black Whale...Kullato and Illumi are there to Assassinate some Royal Prince's and are getting paid for finding/killing Hisako Marrow. The Phantom Troupe are unique because they can challenge Zoldyck family in certain way. Kulkato kind of like Inter learning from Phantom Troupe before he leaves because even if Kullato in the group with Illumi, both of them are Zoldycks looking out for Family interests. I just keep going back to Yorknew City and how Zoldycks like Silva, Zeno and Illumi kept the Zoldyck family reputation, did their Assassination job, and were paid by Chrollo Lucifer/Phantom Troupe to cancel out the 10 Don's contract to kill the Phantom Troupe.

Kalluto and Alluka are highly likely to be girls. the Zoldyks probably have a strict patriarchal tradition of only keeping heirs (boys) in the family, and discarding the women. Silva is breaking tradition to keep the girls by going around this technicality by calling them sons. A clue here is that Silva is very much an outlier in the family. He is the only one showing some level of "normal" compassion outside Killua, the rest are a bit insane. He chose Killua as his heir because he sees himself in him. Though Illumi is the most correct choice if you want a perfect assassin leader. Another clue is that he has a very formal relationship with his father (the keeper of the tradition). Though he can keep the girls due to being the head, he's not totally above it to be allowed to acknowledge them as daughters. It's a strange give and take dynamic. Killua, having been slowly escaping this dynamic, fully acknowledges Alluka as a female. Kalluto is still very much within the family dynamic and in keeping tradition,wants to prove his worth as a "son" by catching up to the rest of his brothers in strength.

I think that Kurapika hired the Zoldyck family to assassinate the Phantom Troupe, and part of his payment was offering to convince Killua to rejoin the family. And I think that the offer was a lie on his part, since I think he's planning to die after he completes his goals of destroying the Phantom Troupe and retrieving his family's eyes.
