Combination of the Mangatoi station muster and matt Newtons bull catching device. Dedicated to Braide Coplestone.
When we took over the property it had no fences and a feral heard of stock. We caught the feral bulls that would not heard with cows and replaced them with well breed angus.
As a result we now have 400 cows producing good quality weaners each year. Now the feral stock are under control and we have a few new fences we can muster using horses and don't need technology.

I'm 70 now and I will share a true' with y'all. Must have been 1973-74 in Foothills just below Sonora, Cal. My friend and I, Ed, both of us karate students, would drive up to the forests, get out and wild train ourselves for as long as we could take it, rolling down hills, lifting big rocks and logs, and running thru brush bearing cuts, bruises, cries and laughs. I had an Oorang Airedale, catch dog for bear, cat, hog, and practiced experience, anyway we were taking a break, resting. Did not know where we were, just a beautiful place, a forest with open glades somewhat, anyway, Ed always carried a tomahawk and was pounding it in a particular rhythm against a hollow old log. Hoppy, a stud, (short for Hop Gar/Lion Roar) growled, all 144 lbs of him and he just vibrated next to me. I looked up and something told me to look to my left. When I did I was quietly SHOCKED! About 50 or 60 Black Bulls were standing like an arrowhead, with one Master Jack at the tip, all pointing at us. We did not hear them approach and they were not there when we came to that spot. I, wow, was scared, cuz they were not but about 40 yards away on flat turf leading to us. Hoppy growled like I said and then and only then did the herd back up. Hoppy was an unsual dog, watched him unfortunately kill other dogs b4 I could intervene but saw him push cat, hog and bear up, up and away. He was used to the fight to live thing. If he were not there I do not know what would have happened cuz they were CLOSE and the trees were far. The amazing thing was how quiet they were. Out in the sparse, beautiful forest, the bulls must have been used to predators, sure. Boy, did I learn a lesson! The only animal that ever scared me as much: Sasquatch about 50 yards, just across a pond in 2012. thanks

These seem to be cattle that occasionally see humans, every year or two..... so they can be a bit aggressive. Yep, it's a great place for children, but you have to strategize about how many "spares" you breed (children), in case of fatalities.

we got 30 angus cross brood cows here in steuben county ny on rotational grazing. handle them on foot or with four wheelers. quite an operation you have there, that helicopter net is outstanding. knew that young bull was going to charge, as that fellow gets older he will learn to avoid that. been on that end of a bull myself. enjoyed the video and the music.

So much for low stress Cattle handling hahaha. My grandfather and father ran over 1000 head of cattle and they would have killed me if I would have handled their cattle this way. I remember looking for lost ornery bulls and having to lasso them with a long leather lasso. It would take two or three of us to control the animal but I would always have to keep my cool because my elders would tell me that the horse would feel my energy level and the idea was to keep the horses calm so they could work and it always worked. Calm cowboy = calm horse = clam team and lower stress overall. Accidents happen when your not in control. It takes a much more skillful cowboy to do things this way.

Was going to hate on you until I read the description. Wild anything is hard to roundup in that country. Chopper is a cleaver idea. That being said some proper training is in order on that station with some low stress handling on the cattle. And sorry but way to many untrained dogs. That would not fly at my place. Would like to see a follow up video and see how the cattle are now.

We have roped the wild bulls in the past off horses, nailing them with dogs, tied them up and dragged them out. It can be stressful for the animals, and super dangerous. The use of the helicopter bull catching net is a much less dangerous stress free option.
