Yes it is pascal and mango is my favorite tropical fruit that I grew up with in my home country the Cape Verde Islands off the west coast of Africa. Here in the Tampa Bay area, we can grow a few different varieties.

I have 5 Mango trees here in Florida, they do fantastic here, I guess is because of the sub Tropical climate. They are all heavy producers. They take care of them selves🤗

Yes Bennie and I have 7 in my back yard and 3 of them are producing and my oldest and biggest is my queen producer. Her mangoes are so delicious and big. What other fruits do you grow where you are?

Manny, I have also a Mamay Sapote tree, a few Papaya trees, Cavendish Bananas, and Passion Fruits. My Carrie Mango tree Stands 35 feet tall then there is my Valencia Pride, The Ataulfo, Honey Mango, and the Haden And Finally my Tamarind Tree💖🌴🌴🌴

Wow cool video. I seen a video where the guy picks off the bud with his finger nail to encourage branching when the mango tree is small. I have a small valencia pride I bought. About 3 ft. When I did this 2 months ago it now has a flower budding out instead. I guess that tells me its healthy. I know they say to break off the flower but I dont know if I can? I also wanted to ask you, how is that big mango tree you grew from seed? I have a couple Im growing from seed and one was from a valencia pride and its well over 3 feet and looks great. Yours look awesome! Was wondering after this video if you got any mangos from it? They say the mangos you get wont be the same as from the tree you got it from. Was curious how it was? Great video and thanks for making it. You should make a video about the mango tree you grew from seed and gave mangos. Cant find one like that. Only grafted mangos. Thanks

Thanks Rick and yes, my queen did flower for me two years ago and it produced some beautiful, what I call pineapple passion delicious and sweet and very fragrant mangoes. We had a bad frost last season so the top half of the tree was freezer burned and I had to prune it way back but it all came back beautifully so i'm hopeful for next season. Most of my trees got freezer burned but they have rebounded nicely so hopefully next mango season will be fruitful.

How old is the mango from seed?

This mango tree is about 5 years old and it was a grafted tree I bought from Lowe's.

Round buds are not necessarily be flower buds. At least mine defied me! It can change to leaf bud if you have too much rain, if you will!

It is interesting to know about the rain and for me so far, every time i've seen round buds on my trees, they have turned into flowers. This year I had both flowers and new leaf buds on the same tree...lol

In which zone are you located in with your mangoes? Zone 9 northern California? I try to simplify: swollen buds are flower buds, bud with small spikes are growth buds. Do you have some mangoes hanging on?

I'm in zone 9b (Tampa bay area) and this year 3 of my trees flowered and have hanging fruit. I'll make an update video soon on the progress.

I'm in 9b and it's possible to grow one in 9a if the conditions are right for it and if a young tree can survive a couple of seasons with close to freezing temps.
