Thank you for your video. Is it alright to use the fertilizers you mentioned in summer? It is close to 40 degrees for me. Also I applied onion peel just 3 days back. Still facing yellowing of leaves and budd falling
@GardeningUpbeat8 ай бұрын
Moumita Ji, your name is really sweet and thank you so much for your words, much appreciated!...Anyway, back to your questions - Onion peel fertilizer just works as an supplementary fertilizer....it doesn't give any instant result. We can definitely use it..but it won't produce any amazing result, like lots of flowers. 3 days is bit early...it would take more time. >> Is it alright to use the fertilizers you mentioned in summer? 200% safe. In fact, summer temp in my place is quite high too. Not sure how some KZbinrs started giving wrong info about fertilizers like we shouldn't apply in summer. Well, in tropical places like India, plants grow very fast in Summer and this is the time when they need LOTS OF fertilizers. Main thing is timing and evening is the best time to apply. But if you are still worried, decrease the dose. Thank you!

Hi, I have a newly planted large hibiscus (3 gallon) that has green buds that fall off. The overall plant looks super healthy and green (I planted it with hibiscus fertilizer 10-4-12) with just some leaves that turn solid yellow. The green bud that dropped this morning does have small black dead bugs on it and I haven't sprayed for bugs yet. My large assortment of plants get only direct sun from 12-4 with dappled sun before and afterwards. The yellow leaves also have black/dark green spots. I removed the leaves (about 8 of them). Any ideas? Should I just begin spraying or fertilizing more? I have other smaller hibiscus in pots that are doing just fine. Also, have you heard of using banana tree fertilizer 15-5-30 on the hibiscus? Thanks.

someone gifted me a Hibiscus plant; at first it was fine now it has the yellow stem/dropping bud problem. I am in Southern California so it is warm enough but has been cloudy for months. Will this cause the problem? I appreciate your video , you know your plants. I am surprised at how heavy your potting soil looks though, and also surprised how much you flood the plant when you water.

Yes very tricky plant to grow. I already lost two of them. Now i feeding seaweed in granules and liquid form foiler spray of npk, potash directly in soil, vermicompost in every 2 month, Epsom salt spray. After doing all this the result is not that much good as i wanted, but its ok. Its been more then 1 year, no bud formation at all. But all that gives me satisfaction that i have at least one gardenia plant in my garden😇😇😇

My large multi petal hibiscus is planted in the ground and it flowers vigorously. But my plant also drops some bud. It is just a natural thing because the plant just cannot support all the buds. And another thing is that too much rain will cause the leaves to become yellow. If you keep the soil moist direct sun will not be an issue.
@sasswami75283 жыл бұрын
Good point. Monsoon season can work against this plant ; too much rain water can wash off soil nutrients., and will need to be replenished. Anyway, direct planting on the ground takes away a lot of care issues,growing naturally is the best way.!

Can this procedure be conducted on any season or on some specific season?Please advise. Besides, instead of adding each fertiliser component separately direct to the pot, can it be mixed outside the planter and then the mix be added to the planter? Please advise.
@GardeningUpbeat Жыл бұрын
Sure, we can do during anytime of the year whenever we face the issue. But, mostly happens in Summer as Hibiscus blooms well in Summer. And, of course you can mix them separately and then apply in the pot. Wish you all the best!

I have multiple hibiscus plants, one of them is double hibiscus, I dont have any issues with other hibiscus plants, but this double hibiscus plant keeps dropping buds, It was actually at my friend's place since then it is dropping buds, so I cut a branch and grew a new one from that cutting in my pot, I had put garden soil, compost etc. but it still keep dropping, I also tried using NPK fertilizers but no change, the plant appears to be healthy, the leaves are pretty green and there is no leaf fall as such, its growing well, just keeps dropping buds. I also tried changing frequency and amount of watering but no success.

Hello, I have done everything you advised above. The yellow bud problem started a few days ago, so I have just now added potash in three hibiscus plants. 1 tsp in 1 Ltr of water distributed among them. My question is- is the quantity enough? Or should it have been 1 tsp potash in one plant? Second, how many times do I have to repeat the process? The banana mix and later potash? I am in mumbai and monsoon is going to start next month. And last, after adding potash, do I have to keep the plants in shade for three days? Please let me know. Thanks
@niveditamishra7021 Жыл бұрын
So, as I understand: 1) Vermicompost 2) Banana peels 3) Cocopeat 4) Bonemeal 5) Mustard cake And if it doesn't work, some Potash! Am I right? Gardening Upbeats gives very practical advice.

But cant see any fungus such!
@GardeningUpbeat Жыл бұрын
Honestly saying, most fungi are invisible to scientists as well..we only see the symptoms. If you do the same as mentioned and provide at least 5-6 hours of direct Sunlight, your plant would start doing well, trust me! Other than that, please make sure you are growing your plant in good potting soil mix and fertilizing well. I have a video about this. @GardeningUpbeat Actually that is very inexpensive. A little one in a four inch pot with maybe eight leaves is a good deal for $7. I purchased tiny ones of Beautiful Desire (a unique variety) for $28 in a 4 inch pot this spring online, and I am hoping to get a few flowers later on). A large 3-5 gallon hibiscus maybe 2-3 feet high is an excellent deal at Walmart, Lowes or Home Depot over here in the USA at $28-34. So it's wonderful that the double red was purchased for $16. Blessings.
