Thank you Mike for your concise history of the Manhattans. I grew up in Jersey City and attended Lincoln High and PS 22 school where Phillip Terrell Flood was a teacher of mine, which we are still friends to this day. I also knew the group after Gerald became a member. Again thank you for taking me down memory lane 😌

Great job! I love their Carnival tunes and new nothing of the De Luxe recordings but by the sound of what I heard, I didn't miss anything! I must say though, the transition from George Smith to Gerald Alston was probably the smoothest in music history! Very interesting story how that all came about. My favorites would have to be SEARCHING FOR MY BABY and I'M THE ONE LOVE FORGOT. George was excellent when it came to laying on the sympathy!

I grew up in this era none of these were hits. Play some songs that were hits. Too far into this post to no have heard any hits from the 70’s. Where’s the hits from the Manhattan’s. Crap
