This is one of the best album tracks of the 90s. Bizarre how it never gets talked about and flew under the radar.

Also a better single than at least 90% of singles released during the ‘90s (and not even a single).

“I am afraid of getting older. I am afraid of getting married. Spare me from cooking three meals a day-spare me from the relentless cage of routine and rote. I want to be free. (...) I want, I think, to be omniscient… I think I would like to call myself "The girl who wanted to be God." Yet if I were not in this body, where would I be-perhaps I am destined to be classified and qualified. But, oh, I cry out against it. I am I-I am powerful-but to what extent? I am I.” -Sylvia Plath

There are no sunsets just silence You could see that she was true and faithless But see through the future and forget all the lies Black out the words for the blind have eyes I am the girl who wanted to be God There are times when you feel hopeless Just for once for no-one else we are blameless The dawn is still breaking its heaven is so high She told the truth, told the truth and then she lied Hold me she said love me to death

@@cacen180 Nick's backing vocals are a big deal - they blend really well with James'. And his bass playing is great. This comment is horse poop. I don't know why people seem to enjoy being reductive like this.
