Happy new year ! I'm currently preparing for Gate 24, while making notes I tend to write each thing in depth is it a good practice as while doing revision it's like I'm reading a novel and should i make short notes also while revising a particular subject ? 😅

Hi pinaksh see when i started making notes i tend to do so.. but what might be happening is that as you might have not gone through pyqs by now so you would not have any idea about what are important topics. And hence you might be making detailed notes of all the topics. Anyways if you will be able to finish all your notes making till September or October you’ll have 3..4 months for revision. And solving pyqs and test series. Then i used to make smaller and smaller notes with each revision. You’ll understand what topics are important by then. So you wontons have to go through all the novel you have written

Actually I'm from Non cse background and studying all the subjects for the first time so is it possible to secure a good rank in one year? and as I should complete notes making by September or October that means I should be studying fast also, so can you please guide for it as my weakness is lack of consistency ! @@pinakshkumar3521 we have a lot of batchmates from non cs branch, like mechanical electronics etc. and i think you can get good rank in one year if you seriously focused for gate. As not many cs students study these subjects seriously in their semester. So in some way studying gate cs subject for gate preparation is also new for them. So dont worry about that. And its really good if you can complete your notes making as soon as posssible. After that you can have enough time tor practicing qsn solving pyq and revision

Sneha di , i attempted first full length test ( Applied course ) i scored 55 marks ... I could have scored 68-70 but could not score due to silly mistake ..have you attempted applied test ? How much your scored on average ? Is 70 good score in applied test ? Today is 12th Jan ... I am sure I'll reach till 70 by the end. Please reply !! 🙂

hey hi..i gave there all india free mock test and i scored between 65 to 75 in all 4 tests. if it was your first full length then its good enough but try to avoid sily mistakes. and try to reach above 75 in mock. because in exam you will mostly do a little worse than the test series itself

Sneha this might be out of topic question for this video but i wanna know do you feel slightest bit of regret of not choosing iitB over iisc? I mean would you go to iit B if you were given a chance now? Please answer truthfully since many aspirants would learn from your experience.

See initially when I entered my first semester i felt a lot of pressure at that time i even thought why even did MTech 😂.. unfortunately i have not talked to anyone from IITB how strict the course work there is so never felt regret in that sense. But yes i felt that college life might have been a little more fun in IITs.. because there UG people are a lot so i think more fest and events happen there. But if you ask me about how much importance is given to a Mtech student here in masters. I would say it’s same as what is given to a Phd student. I dont know if it’s the same there in IITs as BTech is given more priority. Also there are many clubs in IISc as well from sports to spirituality. So if you can manage time you can also join them. I think you can summarise what i wanted to say

@@Sneha_Negi Understood, very well elaborated. I think after completing Btech we must focus more on learning rather than cultural activities and etc, since we already lived that life. So even if life at iits are pretty happeninig and fun we should rather choose the one which gives us better opportunity interms of learning and where we are at the center of attention. Hi actually i dont know if i am in position to share placement related information but i will try to ask someone pursuing Mtech from iit and then try to make a video comparing placements here in iisc. And also I’ll try to get idea of average CTC here in iisc. All i know is Not many high paying international companies visited to iisc this year.

Does DE Shaw and Google visit IISc for placements and what is the best thing at IISc that is not there in IITs ?

hi Google used to visit earlier. but this year google did not came for placements. not sure if it came in any other IITs. see I will not compare IITs with IISc. IITs have great placement opportunities and start up culture and a happening college life. in IISc if you want to come then come with the purpose of learning and gain knowledge. professor here treat an MTech student equivallently as a PhD student. so thats a great thing I believe. in IISc you get exposure to both placements and research. so there is that. I hope my answer is relevant

Hi kartik this time I didn’t see any big foreign placement happening here in IISc. In IISc placements starts in September whereas in IIts it starts from November i guess. But I saw a lots of international companies visited there in IItS

@@Credit509 hi yes.. to give you some idea a lots of subjects are advanced level of what you have studied in GATE. Like OS, computer architecture, compiler design, design and algorithms other than that linear algebra and programming, game theory, machine learning related beginners to advanced courses like machine learning, machine learning with signal processing, deep learning in NLP, Data analytics, graphics and visualisation etc.. these are the courses that i have done you are free to choose any course in there respective semester .. you can also choose courses from different departments as well..

Hi, can you please clarify one of my queries? I saw in the iisc website that students from maths and stat background are eligible for mtech research in computer science and automation via gate score. Is that true? Do you know anyone who has a bs or bsms or msc in mathematics or statistics and then went on to pursue mtech research in csa from iisc ? I'm from stat background and I would love to fight to be there if possible

Hi i just saw in the website its clearly mentioned msc and bsc students are applicable for phd and research role. You dont have to doubt it. I dont personally know any one as such. But you can always contact CSA dept from the contacts mentioned in the website
