Excellent. Thank you once again. This is a wonderful collection regarding the subject of the collapse of the apparent subject-object distinction. And, the portion actually concerning the title of this collection - manifestation as an impulse of love - reminds me of the opening of a book by Ernest Holmes: This Thing Called You. An example of a contemporary Christian stating in different language that which you have presented. "The rose exists to express beauty. Root and branch conspire with nature to give birth to blossom. An artist will starve in his garret that he may chisel an angelic form from a slab of marble, compelling the unyielding substance to accept his breath of creation. Not only human beings, but everything in nature is endowed with this creative urge."

Thank you Alan, I keep going back to this even over 4 years!!! I lean something from this every time I listen. It seems that most nonduality teachers stop at being aware of thoughts, and then being aware of being aware. So, I assumed that this was it, I didn't realise that this is still dualism since there's would still be a subject - object relationship and it's important to to collapse the distinction between the two. I don't know how to do this really, I wonder if is simply a 'melting' between the two through realising that this is the case? As far as I know, Rupert goes further than most other teachers in this. So grateful for your work Alan 🙏

Alan, what a remarkable experience!!!....... a question arose in me sometime last night about a clear knowing of a presence in all of my doings, thoughts and experiences, such that I am never alone. it’s unbelievable that this very question was the subject of video.. the witness, which is awareness itself, which is who I AM in essence!!!! I’m very thankful for this!! 🙏🙏

Context: Rupert speaks to me as no other modern teacher. The man's clarity of mind is staggering. So I'm not whining and nit-picking here. Just wondering what other people think. As Rupert says, "why" questions are meaningless in Pure Awareness. They assumes time, cause and effect, and one can always ask another "why." At 13:05, he asks and answers the question "why did the finite mind come into existence?" It is a beautiful metaphor, I think. And part of it rang true. What hit me like a hammer was his comparing it to a mother giving birth. "It is the same impulse," he said. Can one say Pure Awareness has impulses? Or did he just not say, "continuing the metaphor?" Because it didn't sound like he was talking metaphor. Earlier, he calls it a "natural movement" of the Infinite. Hmmm. All thought systems have to start somewhere. You reach a point where you say "there is no why... it is just the way it is." For science, it was molecules, I guess, then atoms, and now it's quarks, leptons, and bosons. "There is no why... they just ARE. There is no explaining the forces that act on them. They just ARE" Is Rupert saying, "there is no 'why.' There is just awareness AND this 'natural movement,' or 'impulse.'" ??

I guess he often answers in response to the questioner. I've also heard him say that the question can't be answered for all the reasons you point out Steven. I feel very fortunate to no longer need answers but can't help admiring Rupert's interlect.

Although I like Rupert's teachings a lot, I get the feeling that he gets somehow stuck in his concept about awareness in his first response. If he would ask me if I am aware of being aware, I would find that experience within me and replay yes. If he would then ask me if I am aware that I am aware of being aware, I would also find that experience within me and would answer yes. And so on. Therefore my experience somehow does confirm that awareness has an infinite regression. And way shouldn't it - awareness is infinite. If we go into that regression we see the infinite. That is when the separate self collapses we find ourself right in the infinite depth and the mystery of or own being.😘

Yes, no need to hold to Rupert's model.
@wilma83265 жыл бұрын
It seens like what you're doing is what Rupert explains about seeing awareness as an object. More specifically, you seem to see awareness as an image in your mind. The mind does this in order to take control of experience. Words are terribly limiting as it comes to awareness and wonderful tools for the mind to take us out of experience and into thought. That is what the whole game of the mind is about 😀
@edzardpiltz63485 жыл бұрын
@@wilma8326, no, I am referring to my direct experience. Within which the mind can not survive, as it can not grasp the infinite. I none it gets very subtle after the fourth or fives regression but it is not impossible. That might be the point when the mind jumps back in and says something like: this is just an infinite regression, that does not make sense. And hereby denies the whole direct experience. But that is not, what I was referring to. 😘

Alan would you suggest some of rupert's talk or meditation which can help me with that? Also something on experience of oneness which is basically the same thing because if subject object relationship is seen to be false the oneness part will be clearly seen
