Thank you for yet another powerful session. I found the mother tree (cedar) > mother connection > mother earth discussion particularly beautiful and profound. I love the smell and presence of cedar trees. Some of them grow to be thousands of years old, and host to hundreds of millions of other little organisms throughout that time. Some of the oldest and largest trees here on the PNW coast are ancient cedars, and every time I see one, I can’t help saying: “look at that mama!!” Jillian, you are a big mother tree to so many tender fleshed little mammals here. Jillian, as you described your type of Love, I can say with all honesty, this is no surprise with You showing up here the way you do, it’s like this is a testament to that type of love and I think to a great degree why I and so many others feel so comfortable and at peace listening to you…you just feel like “love” is the best way I can describe it… On a separate note, as I grow older, I get a growing feeling of this with people if I allow myself to engage with it, it’s almost like people are dropping keys to corridors within themselves and the deeper one goes into that inner world you get closer and closer to finding that TRUE “inner child” that is US before we got shaped by outside influences! (very long comment ahead) I'll share my experience with being a giver in relationships: I used to be very closed off but still a people pleaser. I was also very depressed for many years. Then I kinda realised I WANT to live, and Idk...it lifted off. But I had very little experience with humans, so I got in a relationship where I gave sooo much. And I also gave a lot to other people without checking if they were the right people for me in the first place. So, I got really resentful for months after I cut it all off. I feel like being a giver is still a part of me, but people pleasing looks very similar to it on the surface, so for me it was best to just...select who to give this energy to, and to practice asking yourself if it deters you a lot. Resentment is not something to be ashamed about, because making people happy gives oneself an addictive boost. Addiction to how one loves, which is also a very tiring habit (at least for me). OBVIOUSLY if you get no other reward than feeling you might be a good person you're gonna feel resentment, especially if you think the feedback you receive is substandard to what you think you can offer. And it's not wrong to think that...because people may think your love is substandard, and neither of you is right. Now, idk if it's noticeable but I'm not particularly spiritual. Still, I have spiritual friends and I to adopt some of its practices and beliefs, because it's positive. However, I have tried using the spiritual way of thinking about the whole being a giver thing, aka, that you don't have to receive the love you give from the same recipient. Personally, it didn't work out for me, even if I tried really, really hard. I pretty much gaslit myself into it and had to unlearn it afterwards...my situation is very specific, but with this shared experience I wanted to propose an alternative pov where this line of thinking did not work, not because it's wrong, but because each individual is different. I wanted to somehow show to people that it's alright to feel resentment, why you feel resentment, and that if the practice in the video doesn't work... there's always a way to come out of it even if it doesn't include keeping on giving a lot to everyone
