@@bdhu2001 Not true. Attorneys are not penalised for meritless cases. On very rare occasions there’s penalty for repeatedly initiating proceedings against the same party over the same issue if it’s apparent the filings are intended to be vexatious. But it has to be on the extreme end. If you want to see how long a rope the courts will give an attorney look up any case with The Church of Scientology as the plaintiff.

@@realjnolan It’s actually because these attorneys work on a contingency basis. They don’t work on an hourly fee, they take their fee from the settlement or the awarded damages. That’s why the same attorneys show up in so many such cases. It’s a numbers game for them. It’s also why they are so ruthless in the media side of things. They’re trying to embarrass the celebrity into settling. They don’t want to be locked in a 4 year battle while not getting paid a dime (and risking they’ll lose the case and therefore their bag).

@@realjnolan He also reps Lizzos former dancers. His name is Ron Zambrano. Both cases are employment law disputes at their core but he’s sprinkled the fat-shaming and sexual impropriety claims that are not even actionable in both filings. Why? Because that gets the media invested and because both women are black and therefore subject to worse backlash than any other demographic. He was counting on their fear of that backlash forcing early settlements. He didn’t consider that both women are hardened to backlash, lol. He also didn’t factor that by going in so hard at the start, he forced them to clear their names to the end. The only settlement Meg and Lizzo can now accept is if his clients publicly retract their allegations and allow themselves to be thoroughly publicly disparaged as liars or worse. Even then, I don’t know if it can fix the reputational damage especially to Lizzo. Remember the longer Meg and Lizzo drag this out in court, the longer Zambrano sits without a pay check since he is only paid from the lawsuit winnings. So either he successfully quietly shook down another celebrity this year or he’s running down his savings and is going to get even more savage with the press releases.

it's not her fault his lawyer was unprepared. now whether she is guilty or not is a whole different matter. i love Meg and IF she body shamed the guy she's wrong for that. i won't address the sex in the car allegation b/c that's just a bit much. as she ages/matures i hope she will begin to make much better decisions about what she does and who she surrounds her self with. she has to do better (not for me) but for herself.
