I'm 19 days clean from Opiates, more specifically Fentanyl; & last night, after leaving a NA meeting with one of my friends, she played this song, & more songs with this type of vibe/genre. & I absolutely love this song, I mostly listen to Hip Hop, sometimes Classic Rock, & Blues, but when she first played this song, within the first few seconds of it playing all of the stress from being in recovery, & everything else, & all negative energy left my mind, & im writing this here because honestly that moment it happened, left me speechless and I feel like none of my friends would be able to relate on the level I do with this song.

Keep going man I'm 9 years sober now from oxy I learned to hate who it made me and i wouldn't go back for all the money in the world. My best advise and probably the hardest thing to do is get rid of every single person in your life that uses they will drag you back to hell to suffer with them!!! Eventually some of them will get their shit together just like you are doing and maybe someday you can reconnect but for now the only option is to stay as far away from the users as possible! Start to plan for the life you want to live, make goals even if they seem small keep working towards them. Have a bunch of easy to achieve goals so you keep having success, have some goals you can reach in a week, a month, a year, and dont lose focus of where you want your life to end up!!!! But never forget all the bullshi* the drugs brought to your life and how badly you never want to go back to living like that cause it only takes an instant to go right back where you came from. I wish you the best of luck and pray you continue to fight for your sobriety even when it seems like things arent working because good things will come to you soon

One of my best friends passed away... he took his own life. I think about him everyday, not so much wondering why but wondering about him and the memories I had with him. His mother posted a video, it was him singing. He was singing this song and although I understood where his mind was at some points in time... I can't help but hear his voice singing this song every time. Every time... at the end, when he sang "You have purpose." He smiled, whenever he sang it... Whenever he sang "You can do this, you have purpose." He would smile, whenever he said purpose. I will always think of that smile. That's just my two cents on this song. You can do this, you have purpose.

a lot of people have said 2016 was a horrible year, and collectively- at a universal scale- it was definitely filled with tragedy, however I strongly believe and FEEL it was a beautiful year for the inner self. All of the tragedy striking us as a whole collective has given our inner selves a chance at rebirth. For me, this year was all about rebirth and transformation and I see that desire to LOVE in so many of us right now. The more I study ancient Astrology and Philosophy the more closer i FEEL to the truth of meaning in this life. WE are incredible beings, capable of SO much love. Love is our ultimate form. I strive everyday in my defeat against my own ego and Nahko and MFTP have really help put my feelings into melody. I learned, this year, that its pary of my magic to bring people together. To serve as a middleground where 2 entities can meet and find peace, love and acceptance. I got nothing but love to give y'all and I am so thankful for your music and universal influence!!!

What a beautiful message the bear has created. So I don't understand how 579 people can put their thumbs down to this. Poor them. They need to heal - e.g. through music. Thank you so much beautiful Nahko for all the love, music and profoundly insightful poetry you have endowed us all.

579 is a number and like a name, like many numbers. Certain groups use numbers in the news and online to talk about things. They alter numbers on videos and posts. 57 is a number Nazis use to describe the rest of us, including white people. 579 can mean a death threat to us. Nahko spreads love and hope and togetherness and they hate that. Keep spreading the musical medicine.

Nahko came to me laying in a detox couch next to a beautiful soul called Sadie who was also another spiritually broken soul. She put on Aloha ka a kua and we both wept together then for the rest of the day Nahko played and we spoke deeply about the horrors of life we had both see. Wondering how we ended up in the same place at the same time sharing such beautiful music together which soothe both our souls. This was four years ago I am sober and on the path with my little tribe I often wonder what became of sweet Sadie I like to think she went back to Hawaii and is opening that yoga studio living her dreams.

Well this is real talk, this is non-stop It is looped now tongue and mind Played off the sidewalk, straight to your boombox How it travels from ear to memory Well this is medicine, there's a message within And each will find it in their own time Well this is music, this is how I use it It makes you move and move the movement This is how I focus, knowing it's not hopeless But it sure starts with me and ends on a whole note Musical medicine, this is my healing For past and present future things to come I see people stressin' over space and possessions Out of fear and a need for visual aids of our abundance Give me examples or something tangible Something I can get my hands on and find real meaning Where is the medicine? Well I've been searching And I suppose each will find their own kind Well everything's at stake, it makes it hard to concentrate And there are men who see a war and see a paycheck Such different programming, to live so fearfully Terror this and terror that terrible reality There is no medicine on the television So turn it off and turn yourself around And let's just face it, the world's fuckin' racist Even the most peaceful of us gets caught in the trend To live cohesively is almost a fantasy And we ought to know it starts with humbling our egos What is the medicine for cultural woundin'? Has it's moments has it's melodies has it's time Well I was listening to the outgoing seasons About climate change and some of the reasons When the sky opened like I been hopin' And there came horses by the thousands And there was thunder on their tongues, and lightning on their minds And they were singing this old melody from some other time They sang don't waste your hate Rather gather and create Be of service, be a sensible person Use your words and don't be nervous You can do this, you've got purpose Find your medicine and use it They sang don't waste your hate Rather gather and create Be of service, be a sensible person Use your words and don't be nervous You can do this, you've got purpose Find your medicine and use it.

imagine your in grade school, instead of reciting the pledge of alegence(?) the students say (with their hands on their hearts) DONT WASTE YOUR HATE, RATHER GATHER AND CREATE. BE OF SERVICE, BE A SENSIBLE PERSON, USE YOUR WORDS AND DONT BE NERVOUS. YOU CAN DO THIS, YOUVE GOT PURPOSE. FIND YOUR MEDICINE AND USE IT... Imagine empowered children. Imagine real communication. Imagine a sensible country.

After being a spiritual person my whole life, but having major ups and downs , I found my soul mate. Suddenly my spirituality took an unexpected turn, seemingly out of my control. Out of fear and jealousy I strayed from my love all serve all mindset and started looking for ways to direct negativity at my partner to challenge his faithfulness to me , which is wrong and created misery and darkness in myself. Letting go of past trauma from old relationships is extremely difficult. I have been doing better about making time for my own internal joy and meditation again lately ,( I was practicing my spirituality often and was very happy when we first got together ) This song just took on a whole meaning to me. It voices the focus and intention it took for me to realize that it is possible to be on your path and keep your visions in motion , replacement of bitterness and judgement, insecurity and judgement is essential. Thank you

This song is what keeps me going on days I don't feel like I can anymore. So much love, unity, and creation goes into your work. I'm very grateful to exist at the same time as this music does.
