Look at all those horrible artifacts disappear! This must have been an INSANE amount of work. Amazing Job, really.

I remember back in 2015 I thought that'd be impossible to solve. Arthur (our graphics programmer) has done an incredible job. We're hoping to do a tech breakdown of the edge detection at some point.

That's a huge feat, I dunno if it's something you always planned to fix and knew how, or worked through the problem and solved it because you just wanted to improve it. Either way it must feel fantastic to reach this milestone. Keep it up!

Very solid presentation! Looking forward to playing the finished game. Perhaps we can work together on the next version, with circular geometry a-la Tetrahedral Planetoid: peripheralarbor.com/gallery/v/CG+Art/TetPln/ and procedurally generated architecture and puzzles!

was there a speech about the effect somewhere? acerola said there was, but I don't know how to find it

I love how you got rid of the artifacts, but it appears so much more colorful before. Hopefully up close its still colorful?
@RandumStuffRandumnes5 жыл бұрын
I think the problem was before there wasn't much contrast between the geometry and background. I like having a larger distinction between them.
@WilliamChyr5 жыл бұрын
It just happened that a lot of the lighting was on the left side of the screen. We have a lot of new levels and geometry, but I wanted to keep the format shown here. There's definitely more colorful areas. I'll make sure to show them in future videos.

How did you solve the edge flickering? Is it still an edge detection shader? Or is it simply a mesh now?
@WilliamChyr5 жыл бұрын
It's still a post processing shader, but much more complicated: distance field, etc. Arthur (the graphics programmer who joined in 2017) discussed it here: twitter.com/WilliamChyr/status/1166808409657741313 We'll do a tech breakdown one day.
