Great Studio and sound..Question, How are you panning the multi mic instruments?

this is a great resource, but the mono upload masks much of the impact of those stereo room pairs in this demo

Did you have phase problems on vocal mic track from others instruments playing at the same time in the room?
@Manifoldrecording6 жыл бұрын
Actually no, for three reasons. First, because the vast majority of the instrument sound is diffuse by the time it reaches the position of the vocal mic (the solid and the glass gobos deflect/absorb the direct sound). Diffused sound doesn't really have a phase (this is not a precise mathematical explanation, but very cool: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3PRn4uYhLJoiZY). Second, because distance ratio between the voice and the other instruments is so great (especially when considering the 1/r^2 ratio), there's virtually no instruments in the vocal mic anyway. And third, because while we did record scratch vocals with the instruments, the final vocal takes were done with only the vocalist(s) in the room.
