She’s coming for an Olympic AA medal. Team Italy is the only threat to the US in the Team event.

Though I would love to see Italy on podium, I don't agree with this. Italy, China, Brazil and France are going to fight for the silver and bronze. I have a feeling that Italy will end up with the fourth....

@@lisabrina4867 China hasn’t been a medal contender in the AA since 2008 - their vaults and floor are barely elite. France may be able to medals as they’ve been increasing difficulty of late. Italy’s senior depth is arguably the strongest in Europe right now. Brazil look great though, wouldn’t be surprised if they get a silver.

@@andywillard8336 They have a few decent floor routines and 1/2 dty, plus their bars and beam d scores more than make up the lack of depth in the other apparatus, more than in the past years. I wouldn't count China out, at all, though relying so much on bars and beam is always very risky.

@@andywillard8336 If you were talking about AA medals, then my prediction is Simone, Rebecca and Shi. If Alice and Manila have a good day, then they could be in top 6. As for team, China's weakest event is always vault, but this year they can have a dty, a dtt and maybe a rudi (or ftt). Their floor is not great, but useable for team final. Their strength lies in bars and beams with bars d-score 6.7-7.2 6.6 6.5 beams between 6-7 (no other teams have that d scores not even close) so if they can do well in bars and beam, they can medal..

@@lisabrina4867 That Rudi on soft mat??? Realistically China is going to count a 13- vault. The bars hit rate is like 50%. Beam is beaming. Floor is going to score less than top groups. Team final is always hit rate + scoring potential. Their hit rate historically is very low, while their risk tolerance (higher scoring on paper) is the highest.

If FIG doesn't make floor useless and lowest scoring apparatus, a 14.25 is right to me (14.4 using uneven bars scale). She has almost everything: F+ tumbling, E dance, D leap, good choreography.

Actually I don't mind that. A proper score for her routine should be 14.2-14.4 if FIG doesn't make floor useless and the lowest scoring event. F+ acro, E dance, D leap, good choreography. It's a shame that FIG makes it under 14.
