Manila New Year 2022 Fireworks as Seen Live from BGC, Taguig

Not just the entire Metropolis, but also the whole country. Many people light up fireworks and firecrackers in the belief that the light and sounds of exploding firecrackers and fireworks drives away evil spirits and helps to herald the new year.

However, being a Filipino myself (and I do light fireworks at the front of my house to join in the New Year Revelry) this year is milder. In previous years the entire skyline of the nation is literally filled with fireworks. The whole place becomes one un-orchestrated yet spectacular fireworks display.

Seen from BGC Taguig, so is that Rockwell in lights where some fireworks are behind, and Makati generally to the left and centre po ? Good to see! Almost 2 year's since I was able to go to Maynila due to Covid! Miss Maynila at especially bf/ jowa ko sa Taguig. Maligayang Taon sa lahat. Greetings sa London 😊

Either Rockwell or The Grove. It is more likely that you are seeing The Grove in Rizal because it’s in Pasig :)

Ana, this is exactly how Filipinos celebrate and herald the New Year. We set off dozens, even hundreds of firecrackers and fireworks to celebrate the New Year. You should have seen the action in the streets. I myself, a Filipino, light fountains that shoot smaller sparks and rockets into the air, and my neighbors cheer and jump for joy amidst the explosions of hundreds of fireworks. The entire place becomes an un-orchestrated fireworks display. Ah yes. If you think that the Filipino New Year Revelry is absolutely traumatic, you should witness along with us, how it feels to experience a category 4 supertyphoon.
