Heavy rain triggered by Cyclone Remal has led to widespread flooding across multiple districts in Manipur, prompting the state government to initiate rescue and relief operations. Due to severe flooding caused by breaches in embankments along riverbanks, the state government declared a two-day public holiday on Thursday. Residents have been advised to stay indoors unless there is an emergency. A total of 188,143 people have been affected by the floods in Manipur, and over 24,000 houses have been damaged by the deluge. FYI, Imphal valley is populated not only by Meiteis but also by numerous Naga tribes, Pangals (Manipuri Muslims) and Indian citizens from outside the state. And the worst affected areas like Nagaram and Khuman Lampak are actually inhabited by Tangkhul Nagas. So why is God punishing these communities who have done nothing wrong in the ethnic conflict. Btw these are affects of cyclone remal which have devastated many areas of North East, Bangladesh and West Bengal. By your logic God is punishing the victims of the cyclone in all these areas. Obviously we all are human beings. We all err. In the context of Kuki- Meitei Conflict, both sides have made mistakes and committed some grave crimes. It's one thing to ask for forgiveness collectively and seek solace in God (for those who believe). But it's another thing to express happiness at the sufferings of others by employing God and religion .
