I'm very happy that atleast Manipuri MP has reminded the Parliament about the Oting Massacre killing more than dozens of innocent Konyak Nagas in Mon, Nagaland, in 2021. I belong to the same tribe here but have always been dreaded seeing my own MPs and MLAs not being able to do anything. Yet here seeing someone from outside of Nagaland reminding the Parliament and the Govt. I am very delighted and I wish him the best in his future endeavours. And whatever he said is true, after the killings the BJP nominated the Rajya Sabha seat to a women from the same village belonging to those killed. But it's just appeasement. Just by appointing an MP from the same village is not enough. Because those bereaved families do not get anything from this appointment. Instead besides financial aid the govt. could have atleast openly accept that it was a grave mistake. But PM Modi and Defence Minister didn't say a word. This shows that the ruling govt. doesn't really care for the people they so speak to be serving. Rather all their words and speeches are just to retain and regain their power and position. Even at present, PM Modi can talk about bringing peace between Russia and Ukraine but he can't utter a word on Manipur issue which has been ongoing for the past more than a year. This is a tragic moment when our PM can't even condemn and condone the killings of innocent people in his own country yet go around the world acting to he a peacemaker. This all only shows that they are only after power and position but doesn't bother about the people. Shame on Modi, Shame on BJP and shame on Manipur CM and his govt. for being so incompetent to resolve the issue within the State for more than a year now.

@Darby-L I understand ur perception about who's a manipuri and who's not. But for people outside manipur we also call the people residing within the geographical boundaries of Manipur state as manipuris as well. I don't think it's wrong as well. To cite the best example, I'm a naga from Nagaland completely different from the mainland indians however as a citizen residing under the geographical territory of India, I'm also called an Indian. So according to this conception only I used the term manipuri, without judging according to the local understanding of who is a true Manipuri.
