Manipur MP Bimol Akoijam Exclusive after his first speech inside the Lok Sabha

Inner Manipur MP Bimol Akoijam spoke with NTT a day after he delivered his maiden speech in the Lok Sabha on Monday night, urging the Prime Minister to speak on the strife-torn state of Manipur.
As PM Narendra Modi delivered his speech on the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address on the floor of the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, he was met with vehement sloganeering from the Opposition who shouted "Justice for Manipur", "Manipur ko Nyay do!", demanding the Prime Minister speak on Manipur. However, in his speech spanning over 2 hours, Narendra Modi did not say a word on Manipur. In this interview, Dr Akoijam said he is disheartened by the way the Union government treats his state. He added that will bear the concerns of the people of Manipur to the Parliament and asserted that he will make sure that the people of his state will not beg for acknowledgement from the Union government.
