Manipur Violence: Local Economy Hit As Railway Services Halted, Says Jiribam Station Master

Jiribam, Manipur Violence: The station master of the Jiribam Railway Station in Manipur expressed concerns as the Northeast Frontier Railway stopped their services. The passenger train services in Jiribam are halted for more than a year now.
Fresh violence hit Jiribam district of Manipur on June 7th. Tensions escalated in Manipur's Jiribam district after Meitei resident Soibam Sarathkumar Singh's body was found on June 7. The station master said, "Halting of train services has affected public life and local economy badly."
