Three things: 1. Manisha is looking SO pretty WITH her natural face, natural nose, natural everything. At last someone with slight lines on their neck and a face that actually moves! She´s just amazing and so secure. And thank you Manisha for dressing with dignity. Playing a tawaif doesn´t mean that the cleavage must be at display. People seem to think that dressing with "tehzeeb" is certain pieces, but they don´t understand HOW that libaas is carried. A dupatta has a purpose! It´s not something that gets pinned on the side while we strategically leave half of the chest at purposeful display. I´ve seen actresses looking down and REMOVING the dupatta from the chest....I mean, are you that desperate? I think smart directors should deny working with actors who come with fillers, botox and surgery, because it´s so DISTRACTING to see people play Desi roles while having a nose that looks out of place and not in balance with the rest of their features. Not to mention having to see swollen faces and eyes that disappear into just two lines when they smile! Directors should also consider how a face with fillers and botox CANNOT emote and express the way a natural face can. I´m not too excited about "Heera Mandi" because the trailers alone have ruined it for me (with Urdu being butchered), but I commend Bhansali for showing women in a range of ages and looks (some of the chosen actresses are not beauty queens, but that adds to the credibility of a story). None of the actresses seem to be below 30, and that´s refreshing 2. Observing Sanjeeda Shaykh sitting there with her head held high, her little smiles and nodding, and her complete patience is inspiring. She doesn´t interrupt anyone and doesn´t force herself into discussions. You get a good sense of classicism and "ji-huzoori" of this industry when an artist is unanimously ignored through many interviews or at the most asked VERY predictable questions about her T.V-career alone. (Most interviewers in Bollywood lack creativity....it´s always the same questions or a quiz at the end). Sanjeeda is a case-study in how to just be calm, not enforce yourself and let smart people see what´s going on. Being silent does not mean being dumb or uninterested 3. Richa Chadha is the only one I´m excited to see on screen apart from Manisha. This is the first time I´ve seen this lady. She talks with ease, as if she actually speaks something else than Desi English all day, and she has a certain calm and bravery in how she calls out things that other people avoid. She´s also beautiful....a different look yet such balanced features. I don´t feel like I´m looking at someone who is hyped only because they are "fair", have got their recognition after surgery or someone labelled as a "beauty" because they dress immodestly. Nangapan does not automatically mean sexiness or beauty. It is only besharmi and desperation to be seen

So true because same was the case with me. I noticed the flaws in Alam’s acting but I was more aware of this piece of intricate beauty where every other character , sans Alam, we're on point. Even the servants and the rebels. Also I was unaware she was SLB niece so I didn't judge it for being nepo. For me it was just a mere blot on a beautifully crafted piece easily ignored. People are commenting Urdu is not good but imagine how many of us would have understood pure Urdu.
