Hey Dave, as I do a lot of Manitowoc's, when those sensors fail, clear the fault, then put the machine into "Safe Mode". This ignores the sensors I believe, (I'll have to recheck to be certain), and let it run until you can replace the sensors. It'll then run only on time and the sonic bridge thickness probe. It's a quick fix for the weekends when you don't have the parts, and can get back on a normal week-day and make the proper repair when you have the sensors at a non "time and a half" after hours call. Manitowoc gives you many options to keep running, and helpful diagnosis to find the factual problem.

Those sensors... according to Manitowoc do not cause a hard lockout... it brings on safe mode.

Thanks for the video, my ice maker was just drizzling like this one and only making a few cubes at a time. I do regular cleaning, and this was just after a cleaning. I figured the pump wore out and was just about to buy a new one, all the trouble shooting pointed to the pump. Before I clicked buy, I popped the pump casing apart, and there was build up that didn't get resolved from the wash cycle. Cleared the build up and it worked like new.

I have a question. The display screen is blue with an underscore which is not blinking. I was told by tech support to change lcd display along with cable. If that doesnt work it is most likely the board. Do you agree because it would be embarrassing to change out and it still does not work. I push the contactor in and compressor runs fine. I even shut power off and back on at breaker. Please help

Can you do a manual purge from the keypad? My local water supply overdosed the chemicals and is killing ice machines all over town the past month. Forms yellow crystals that plugs up the intake on a brand new Indigo that was just professionally cleaned four days ago. Another vendor who leases machines in the French Quarter (24 hour bars gotta have ice) has his guys out every day doing a warm water flush and manual purge on his machines.

I have an indigo Manitowoc weather TXV fault code that will always come back after I clear it. When I call tech support he told me it was the sensors never probably the issue because the ice machine is still making ice. The sensors are not important that's what I was told by the we tech support. The ice probe initiates Harvest and the curtain terminates it. The sensors don't initiate or terminate any Harvest or ice making Cycles. It's just there for the data for techs. Looks like the major problem with that machine was just dirty really dirty, do you try to always promote water filters for ice machines I know I sure would

nice trouble shooting mate. those services manuals are gold ! it's a shame NTC's don't all have the same range. perhaps it might help you if you have a couple of potentiometer's on the truck. I just make them fit the connector on the board and put my meter on to calibrate to the correct resistance. saves my ass a few times good for testing the boards and if your lucky you can get them back up and running while you wait for parts.

Nor-Cal Refrigeration & H.V.A.C cool Hz or Ohms resistance reading the book rightnow says to disconnect ice thickness from the board, connect red lead to red wire at the thickness plug , and black lead to black wire at the thickness plug , normal readings should be 1.4-2.5 then reverse the leads normal readings should be 1.2-1.5 if ohms are withing value check control board voltage at the ice thickness probe connection! interesting.....

jeneses lacanaria is the probe clean? If it's dirty then the probe triggers harvest prematurely. If it's a manitowoc and you see the red light on the board go solid for 9 seconds with small ice then the ice thickness probe needs replacing.
@TheLenaweeTrekker6 жыл бұрын
What! I guess you don't understand. That machine is so incredibly bad arse, it can make ice at 475 degrees. Seriously, a few years back, when I attended the factory training class, Jonathan admitted that they had a run of bad thermistors. Jared is even recommending removing the thermistor from the small NEOs now, and Manitowoc will honor your time if the machine is still under warranty.

Great video Dave! Utilizing diagnostics, not I think it might be this, or maybe that! I learned over the years on the old S, Q, J, B models to verify at least 3 batches after repair was made. More times than not there was a second issue or problem. Most techs bailed after 1 and yes a call back. We all hate call backs. Harder today to always keep a customer operating (specialized electronics)You mentioned Everest(Sold a defective relay board and they would not replace it. ok sorry about the rant!
