I looked at RockAuto's catalogue for this sensor. The price for the NTK downstream 4 wire sensors are $42.00 Canadian dollars (so probably $33.00 in real money) each. NTK is the OE supplier, and the sensor cable appears to come with the 3 mounting clips. Thanks so much for the clear presentation. I like that you presented enough context for me to understand the job, without a lot of superfluous commentary.

Instead of a torch you can run the engine for 1-2 minutes. Just be careful because as part of the exhaust system if you get it too hot you can burn your hands.

Could you explain how you got the sensor 1 connector off the mounting bracket? I’ve been trying to disconnect the sensor without taking it off the bracket with no luck
@ManiiZilla2 жыл бұрын
Use a flat head screwdriver or a little pry bar and pop it off the bracket then it’ll be easier to disconnect the connector
@UnclFredstr2 жыл бұрын
Pop it off is not enough of an explanation for me. Where is the release tab, do you push it in or out, and does the connector go down or up to remove it from the bracket? Mine is very dirty from 270k miles, and I can't see it well enough to figure these things out. Did you remove the heater hoses in order to get to it?

Can anyone help me please, I took my vehicle in had a mechanic replace my O2 sensor bank 1 sensor one went and had it done for emissions and it failed the same code came up Bank One sensor One what could be causing this problem it's getting very expensive to keep replacing this Bank One sensor One
@ManiiZilla2 жыл бұрын
What is the exact code?
@johnbrewton49282 жыл бұрын
It may not be sensor. Could be a bad ground, wiring or something else that is causing the upstream sensor throw a code. What code are you getting to make you think replacing the sensor would fix it? Or better yet, why did the mechanic think an upstream o2 sensor would fix the issue?

Best to buy an O2 sensor socket Tekton has them $11 free shipping. Sometimes there's nothing wrong with the sensor, it might just need to be cleaned. Don't cut the wires, that's just stupid.
@kjemradio2 жыл бұрын
The cost of the NTK downstream O2 sensor is currently 199.99. The other is 80. So it will cost you over 300 just for those two. If you have to do all 4, you're looking at 600. These are one of the stupidest creations ever, and they really do nothing except make big brother feel good.

@johnbrewton49282 жыл бұрын
@@bryonaderhold2009 What is the code? If the cat is missing, ask the mechanic why it's missing if they were supposed to replace it. You should have 2 cats on you van and there should be an o2sensor in from and after the cat. The computer is throwing codes because it can't find the o2 sensor probably. cats are pretty expensive. If you were charged for a cat and did not get one, then that's bad. In some states, it's illegal for a mechanic to bypass a cat.

@johnbrewton49282 жыл бұрын
Most of the time, a p0420 is a bad cat. Are you getting any other codes? Any drivability issues when you floor the gas?
@sirfarmbro2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that seemed very easy, but what happened 200 miles down the road? Didn't trouble shoot prior to replacing, and that's a STM, big NO NO! Most likely your check engine light came back on, Send a follow up youtube to clear the mystery.
@johnbrewton49282 жыл бұрын
In the video you can tell the b1s2 (Heater code) had a lot of oil around the o2 causing contamination and o2 failure most likely. The B1S1 may just be old and is not responding quickly enough to changes in fuel mixture. Since there are no other codes (lean, rich, misfires), then it would be ok to change the o2 sensor. For a do it yourself project, without a decent scan tool, parts cannon may be ok. If you had a scan tool with graphing, you could compare b1 and b2 to see if there is a difference in reaction when you introduce a vacuum leak or add a rich source of fuel.
@rmac1199 Жыл бұрын
BRUH!! You don't show how to reach the clips for the sensor or how to get it off the metal bracket.
@robertconn Жыл бұрын
For real. That part of the video is sort of like counting to a hundred by saying "1, 2, skip a few, 99, 100". The connector for B1S1 is impossible to see and work on at the same time. I can't even figure how to get mine off to replace it. Also, my 07 Odyssey has a completely different connection for B1S1 than the one in this video. Can anybody explain how to get the connector apart while working blind with one hand?
