This is basically bcz of guna song.. The song elevated the experience .. It became a hit bcz of usage of tamil language and guna song.. If content is what matters, then a lot of malayalam movies would have been a hit in tamil nadu as well.. If you see , hundreds of malayalam movies have been remade to tamil with more masala.. Tamil audience need more action than content i guess.. Muthu's original or chandramukhi's original were more tastefully made in malayalam. But when it got remade, all u can see is rajani's heroism.. May be tamil audience might have changed over the time

@@lintalukose8856 haha... All i am saying is if it was some other song, for example a Malayalam one, and if the film was completely in Malayalam, this wouldnt have been a hit in tamil nadu... Malayalam has number of great films. If content only mattered for tamil audience, all those would have been a hit there too... So there are some elements that made this movie accepted on another level among tamil audience.. Number of malayalam movies have been remade to tamil with more masala over the time.. If u see Muthu's original is a Malayalam film made with more artistic taste. But tamil audience accepted the mass masala one.. I can give you a 100 examples.
