familiar places but not quite as i can remember them. i could only discern 1950's model cars on the punt. am i correct to assume this was the early 60's?

It was in Melbourne In 1964 for the Moomba Festival and was in Melbourne also in 1965 and 1967. It did trips to Mornington and passengers returned by steam train and vice versa. Very pleasant times!.

@@reidgck , i was looking for the rona (what later became the polly woodside) sitting at south wharf in the upper turning basin but could not see it. it was there for years. it was one of our playgrounds. it also spent some time also at south wharf just upstream of graham st before it became imprisoned in the dry dock. i can't remember a sydney ferry in melbourne but here it is.

@@vsvnrg3263 There is a bit about the North Head on Wikipedia. It was converted to diesel electric from steam about 1948. Had four 7 cylinder diesel/generator sets powering electric motors for the props. They generally used 3 sets at a time

@@reidgck ,i just visited wikipedia. omg it was launched in 1913. and now its sitting in the front yard of a landscaper! better there than chopped up or sunk.
