Fishing and horror don't go together too often, but when they do it's a fascinating combination. I applaud the creativity of making the minigame to actually catch the fish a shmup, that's just wonderful. This was a fun time from start to finish, I'm stunned it's just a demo. I love these normal old-fashioned fishing games! Wow that is a super-realistic fishing mini-game. "A monster almost ate me. The only solution is more money." I can see why you married her. Oh that's pretty neat, I was initially disappointed when they broguht in the "real world" because I was invested in the world of the Lake... but they made it clear that the Lake story is real, that the story of the people being... killed and replaced by the Lake probably happened and corrupted this game cartridge. Also I'm pleased to think you'll get normal versions of the game(s), because the fishing game was kinda fun.

I like that, I like the epxlanation for the weirdness within the game and the implications that it's tied to real supernatural evil outside the game. I look forward tot he full release!

I really, really liked this one. At first this game looked a little disappointing with the low-res pixel art and sort of tired concept but it quickly proved itself with some engaging gameplay and some legitimately great music. Had no idea where the story was going, even by the end, and the fact that this was all essentially just a proof of concept while being a well fleshed out game in its own right was really impressive.

Ya know, haunted cartrage in the woods was not the direction i thought this game was gonna go, but the idea of your spirit being forced to play the role of an NPC in a game, of slowly realizing you had your entire identity and sense of self erased to play some canned lines for a character without even a name... Thats genuinely a compelling horror concept. Especially if this goes where i think it's gonna go, with the spirits playing the characters in each game. Kinda getting "Ben Drowned" meets "NES Godzilla" vibes from the story so far, especially with the connection to seemingly a real life lake (and possibly a real godfish?) I do wonder who the wife and old lady were before. Like, the fishing kid's kinda darkly obvious, but those two are unknowns. Especially interesting since they're the two who each broke their programming first, and the game literally removed the wife when she was about to break the storyline.

Being serious: the pixel style is really good and you can see the effort they made with it. It feel similar with a generic something wrong with the townsfolk/wife and player is going to die in the end. It surprised me with the Inscription level of brain rebooting at the new game screen. Them smoothly changing the pov to a different art style and I felt uncomfortable with the knowing the boy playing will be in danger. Think the real life section could be a point and click style? Just a guess. Still I’m excited for the team making the game and wish them the best with everything. Hope Manly (most likely) play the game when it comes out

It's cool how you can tell when Manly actually really enjoys a game. He sounded genuinely tense when he was close to losing a fish, not like in the "oh man I'm gonna have to do this all over again," but "Oh crap, I can't lose this fish!!" Like he was really getting into the fiction/ludonarrative of the game. He was having fun, it wasn't a slog, and he actively wanted to seek out every secret he could not because he felt obligated to, but because he wanted to. It makes me really want to check this out and support the dev too, that a streamer who has played so many weak indie-horror games in his time feels that this game stands out on its own without asterisks.

I'm so glad to see game developers running with this concept. I think fishing horror is an untapped suspense goldmine, and I'm praying that someone in the future will take on the undertaking of making a full-fledged, narrative-driven horror fisher like the realistic fishing simulators you could play on the Nintendo Wii back in the day. This game already looks like a masterpiece and I'm very looking forward to the full release!
