A few corrections - Padmini is predominantly a star in Tamizh films - don't even bother bringing Hindi movies into discussions. Sivaji is the greatest actor to have walked on this earth - Period! This music is based on ragam Kalyani - which is the South Indian classical Carnatic music system - this is not folk or Bollywood music. And finally KV Mahadevan is a stalwart of a music composer. You will able to do a better job if you do some basic research about the movie and the song and get the context of the song. These are all immortal classics of Tamizh film music
