War Robots INDRA Gameplay: Why So Popular? WR Titan Ranking Discussed
Since there were so many comments stating that the Indra should be placed better - I decided to play it in this video and also explain my reasons for putting it in place 5... Mainly two reasons: Simpyl too slow to be meta and 2nd: No way to fire without taking full damage back. Even if you do outplay someone and win, you're most likely going to take a lot of damage yourself making the next win very difficult, aside from the fact that you can almost never surprise an enemy with the slow Indra. A Luchador or a Minos can do that and in addition to that can often come out of battles with barely any damage taken if they time abilities well because they have a reflector that allows them to battle with minimal incoming damage. Furthermore the Lasso abilitiy of the Indra is quite neglectible and not nearly as possibler as a reflector. (Putting the new Reaper weapon aside, since that will simply counter all titans like they were nothing).

I agree, however don't forget indra is still very powerful even more so than the aether (ever since its nerf) as vipassana ability like transcendence of ravana is still very useful and a good counter against those titan sonics.

Let us remember how useful and powerful phase shifting is though. Plus, the lasso also helps indra stay alive longer with the big burst heal (and could always secure kills), think of it as an offensive utility more than a defensive utility like the reflector. Would love that the titan meta not be centered around being unkillable, aka having the newest one though :c

It comes down to preference and playstyle. I have a lot of success in FFA with the Indra compared to Lucha (I don't have a levelled Minos). Indra is a huge Ravana 😅

It could be the fact that the Vipassana ability is an extremely powerful ability because if you time it right, you can mitigate pratically all effects. I’ve used an Indra myself and it is pretty strong.

One thing I do like about the Indra is you can use the phase shift for removing lockdown immediately like the angler. And getting out of the orions

If EMP wasn’t used on Indra. I make anti-Titan bots and have seen many times where I used Erebus to lock it down and teammates would destroy it before EMP is no longer affecting it. Albeit I keep going back in forth in Master’s League 1&2.

Mmm its kinda weird, because my Indra is level 125 and in champions league I dont struggle at all with luchadors, even maxed ones, but the Minos seems to be harder to beat. Now that I think about it, the luchador has worse mobility than the Indra: The frog splash is a really good perk, but usually it is slow as a dying snail, and the reflector forces you to stay in one place, taking Orions shots to the face and damage from the lasso.

One thing I like about the Indra is the abilities. THe Vipsanna can avoid the Angler’s blind effect, or simply just get out of fire cover. The Electric Lasso can also help finish off low durability targets without engaging them. but the Indra also has some disadvantages, as you said, one of them being slow. But with the correct weapons, I’m sure Indra would be invincible!

Honestly, i was running Luchador before Indra was added to the live servers, and was completely satisfied with it, but in my opinion in many cases you should escape from the dangerous situations, and thats what not always i was able to do with Luchador, cuz he is mostly designed for the battles face to face, so i concider Indra better cuz you can escape easely with higher chance without taking damage, so the option to escape(like with Rook jump) for example is more important in my opinion, but, anyway i totally agree with Manni`s points about weak points of Indra) Manni, thanks as usual for good video)

You make excellent points with why the indra isnt higher than it is, the speed isnt there and the lasso isnt the best either. The only reason why i run the indra is because of the 2 phase shifts it has, they don't do much but they can help avoid possible status effects and help to avoid that extra damage but now i might consider the luchador. Thank you for the content you provide and your expertise advice since you have been playing this game for years.

Yep Manni, you're absolutely right. It all comes down to skill, I've been playing the Luchador a long damn time, and I've learned how to counter the Indra and rarely lose to them. One way is a bit risky but can work, first you jump on the Indra forcing it to use 1 of it's abilities, than you face brawl the Indra till it uses another (don't be afraid to tank the damage) after that WAIT for it's Transcendence to end completely and only after that use your reflector. And then the Indra can't counter with anything, resulting in it's death. But a much more insured way to successfully dominate an Indra with a Lucha is as follows, get the Indra to use 1 of it's abilities before ever doing what I've stated before, sometimes an Indra will do it on it's own. For example cutting the distance to get to you, but whatever the case as long as it uses 1 of it's abilities you can use your jump forcing another, and then WAIT once again for the Indra's Transcendence to be completely over and only then activate your reflector. That's how you dominate an Indra. Good luck my fellow Luchador commander's, I hope my words help and aid you in battle.🫡 It all depends on how skilled the players piloting the titans are, but if both are indeed piloted by good players, I'd bet on the Luchador every time. You should play them yourself first because each player has their own playstyle. For instance, I have every Titan in the game at max level. I've run the Baihu Luchador with 2 repair amps and sonic weapons bit it is too slow for me and when I'm running Sonic Indra I kill Luchadors all the time. Easily in many cases. Kraken Indra is a very powerful Titan. I'm actually running it right now.

Oh yeah, worth mentioning: the Incinerator line of Blastcharge weapons help a lot against Rooks because it damages all physical shields and the blastcharge effect ignores defenses on the bot it goes off on. Less shields to heal from and reliable damage.

Maybe I think one of the reasons it’s so popular is because of the test server. In it. A fully max Indra can lasso you, complete stopping your movement and aiming. And you have to time phase shift in order to not die because of the lasso. It deals MUCH MORE damage, so I think the devs buffed the lasso. It makes titans look weak if you get a titan in it. So the only counter is phase shift and not stealth because at least in the ts, if titan durability is below 20% hp, it activates a quantum radar. EDIT: the 20% hp thing is from titan pilot

Well said about one on one, yes you can still win against one titan, once you use the two charges of phase shift and unloaded your weapon, you're a sitting duck, both luch and minos can soak some damage with the reflector while the moblity move or weapon is on cd, but the 2nd ablitity of the indra is almost useless when brawling.

i use indra because of reaper, especially crisis with 4 reapers. reaper ignores force field, reflector, DP point, so indra’s phase shifting ability is the most effective ability to counter reaper ( except rook’s shild).

in my opinion, as when i play the lucha, i dont go for the bait and agress on an indra, i always wait for it to do so, because i basically have the same hp pool+reflector+suppresion if he is dumb enough to use his phase shifts too many times+i can travel a quite decend distance very quickly to either run for an indra or escape from it kind of, so lucha has basically all of advangates against an indra except not moving when using it's reflector, but it has a reflector while it's moving, so let's just simply call that having a reflector for 10 sec or so

Manni, I agree. I have not liked the Indra particularly because of its slowness. FFA is painful with a slow anything! I was thinking of running Indra in my primary hanger just because of the popularity thinking there was a silent buff or something. But after listening to your reasoning, even though your game play would support the popular opinion, I am pulling it out and my Ox Minos is back in! BTW, I have every Titan except pinapple titan and still run Minos.

I'm currently running Sonics Kraken Indra with 2 Onslaught reactors, 1 repair amp and 1 Grand balanced reactor. Played carefully it's very difficult to beat. You just have to make sure you have abilities ready and watch out for EMP. Never rushing out into the open is key. It's better played defensively. I sometimes run Sonics Ox Minos too. I still think the Minos is by far the most fun Titan to play. While I respect your opinion I think #5 is a little too low. A well played Kraken Indra can compete with any Titan on the battlefield. Except for Rook but that applies to every other Titan too. Lol You should also only rate Titans, bots or weapons on an even keel. From the perspective of playing each one yourself with the same skill level. Introducing factors such as player skill level opens up way too many variables. Jmo.

I actually have an indra with kraken maha-vajra and 2 ruptures on my baby account and it works pretty well because let's be honest, 1 kraken maha-vajra is enough damage close range, and then i can also passively charge my ruptures during the vipassana ability and they can also deal a lot of damage in long AND close range

I have killed 5 Titans using my Kraken Indra level 56 with the new shotguns (my Titan weapons was level 11-15 ) which two of the Titans was Max (Minos, Aether)+ new shotguns.

Everyone have opinions,many will disagree or agree but ourselves know which is suitable and better for us to play with. I'm using kraken indra but still having fun with it, even in higher leagues we still see players who uses nodens, Arthur, aoming, murometz and even kid. But i really love the explanation, honestly i might replace my indra with Luchador since it's more fun to play with. Indra is very effective in ffa while Luchador or Minos is very good on tdm or capture points depends on how you play it tho.

I run a level 120 heimdall with maxed machine guns, and I dominate luchador’s, Sirius, Minos, and Indra titans. I think the heimdall is in the top 5.

Although the hiemdall is really helpful especially for things like lucha or a minos bec if you take damage you will still have a heal charge and you can switch to attack mode for suppestion when they use their reflecter and the physical shield blocks the damage so you will most likely win against one so if you have a hiemdall use it

I use Hiemdal have minos, sirus, luchador, and minos, used with orion battle ship i wipe out lots of titans, actually indra are the toughest only because of phase shift too kill, Aether is a easy target like Seraph,

What I would be interested in seeing is your opinion on the game as a whole, once you really dive into the Mech Warrior Universe. In THAT game, speed will never make you powerful (unless you REALLY know what the hell you're doing) it was about DAMAGE. Across most mech games I have played, this is the case in the meta. Damage. I'd rather be slow, but able to outgun my enemy easily, than be able to run and struggle against an enemy. I play war robots the same way, and it's given a whole new light on how I manage my hanger, what I run, and has ultimately done better overall for me. But as you said, play style is incredibly important and it should be considered by EVERYONE.

I respect your opinion manni but i still think the indra is better. I have an indra with bugatti weapons and a luchador with bugatti weapons as well and having played a lot of game and I tried them both out and the indra always seemed better to me. I don't know why but my guess is because the majority of the time i was using my luchador I found that the enemy will still shoot me during my reflector and i will still take an immense amount of damage. While on my indra I can use one of my transcendence and be immune to all damage and use it to wait out the enemies abilities

Indra is not a brawler, he is a killer, indra can defeat almost anyone alone, if you play carefully you can defeat any titan, but i agree, indra is slow, maybe arnav poe become indra pilot some day and he get an extra ability.

Preferences matters! I don’t really like the Ravana, but I love seraph, so I’m going to have a hard time with the Indra, but I’ll have an easy time with the Aether because it’s the bigger brother to Seraph.

As an indra player myself I undertstand the point you are trying to make, but i think you are still underestimating the lasso ability, it's pretty much free damage even through reflectors and tbh with such high damage numbers in the game you can easily kill luchadors and minos in their abilities, especially in beacon rush games in a group of enemies.

Only when their Titans aren't leveled well. Then the Reflector doesn't protect well enough against maxed or almost maxed weapons. But a max Lucha or Indra... Takes too little damage during his reflector. It's possible to deal damage but it's best to bait their reflector somehow and then engage them. Difficult against a well played Luchador and near impossible against a Minos who can not only activate the reflector but also dash in or out of cover many times.. (again - well played that is)

This is experience coming from champion league matches so their titans are almost allways maxed, but as a side note I want to say that my prefered weapons are the energy shotguns due to their ability to kill a titan in 4-5 shots, this why titans are such an easy kill.

The reason indra is good because it transcendent can wait other ability goes away and the lasso heal (not insanely like the rook )also can slow (also not insane) but manni has a point its too slow the only thing is to sneak up on enemies but it is still good

Personally I agree with the fact that minos can be better but in my opinion Indra is significantly better than the luchador my Indra is only level ~130 and I've never lost to a luchador with it even in 2v1s against luchadors but I have been destroyed by minos' luchadors are just too slow and reflector is almost useless when stationary and can be countered by the phase shift or going around a corner and the indras electrical lasso deals damage and heals. But thats just my opinion. Love your vids Manni keep it up. 🤘🏻

I think depending on what you hope to do with the titan that could change its placing yes definitely in ffa the indra isn't the best for the reasons u said however if played well the indra has the most survivability out of any titan other than the rook simply because it's ability makes it completely immune to everything which is which is why the ravana is widely used as a universal counter to most new meta bots

this really helps to understnd why the indra is in the 5th spot: the titan itself is nowhere near bad, it's just that the other stuff is better in a meta where the whole thing is to rush the opponent when he least expects it and the indra is not good at it, it's just walking... slowly, think of this situation: a luchador jumps on you, you use your ability, you try to run away, you use the ability again, you get away, guess what? He had time to recharge the jump ability and reaches you in 0.5 seconds and this time you have no ability charges left... back to the hangar you go my friend, a minos or another luchador could've ran/jumped away instantly, an aether (hope i wrote that right) would've tried flying away and a rook... it just snacks the luchador real quick then pops the sheilds and heals whatever damage it may have taken

Lucha Reflector is only weak when its not a well leveled titan. You'll find a lvl 150 Luchador ´will absorb far too much damage with its reflector to allow you to effectivly kill it in that ability. When leveled well, you gotta bait his reflector out

The luchador has suppression and heal. It also has the same damage output as Indra because they both have 1 alpha and 2 beta luchador is better

Please do not hesitate to make a video like this Manny. Beyond being friendly, and informative, your discussions of techniques and tactics are easy to understand. I want to play better! (I discovered war robots app in December. Starting with bronze and silver leagues, the game was awesome. Upper Diamond and low Expert leagues are now a distasteful chore with many Russian hackers emerging. Pixonic forcing meta changes and nerfing everything you buy is almost as bad as the hackers.) Please make playlists of any videos you have made like this in the past You have far too many to scroll through seeking content like this. I watch any video hoping to learn how a robot works and what it does well. Most videos cover game changes and new content; basically news that is stale 4 months later. The test server is good for checking out weapon DPS but does not teach anything, and is of limited use when deciding which Robot to build. I want a playlist or grouping of videos that cover play styles and robots use just as this video does for Indra. Final comments, many of your audience are far less experienced players. I see 40% Indras (#1) in Diamond It's very good when used as a regular robot on smaller maps, better than Kid. And thanks for letting me know Armored Core still exists in 2023.

What I mean is, if a video covered how to use a Fenrir/Bernadette tank was done 2 years ago, it is still probably relevant enough not to need remaking. People like me aren't likely to sift through 1000 videos for 10 about it, to find the one (if any) where technique is critiqued. Some robots don't play different from several others and might not have a single video worth watching. Pixonic only recommends whatever shows off DPS of their new pre-nerf equipment, not how to play with what we have. Any videos you have ever made like this one, I would love to watch. But I don't have the hours to find them.

EMP prevents bots and Titans from using their abilities. We have both bots and a drone that causes this effect. Bots with EMP also have the other effects of lockdown and suppression. EMP an Indra, it’s transcendence is toast (as long as anti-control isn’t ready/equipped). Add the other effects and you can guess the result.

Imagine the indra with the 'Pilots' which in my opinion are not required indra having 3 trencendence and then a skill for indra that makes it heal 25% from lasso and do 40% more damage that would be broken as hell

Maybe take a look at the hangars in Legend League, 8 out of ten use Rook, 2 out of 10 use Minos or Indra.

Do you think sirius need a bit of a buff cause i playtested it a few times now and its soo easy to kill and doesnt heal at all which doesnt make sense cause its meant to be a supporter it doesnt have a defense mechanism lowest firepower and imo the worst heal currently

Even tho in one on ones it isn’t that good, playing in a team when there is for example a lot of contest over center, the lasso can really make a difference in the fight! And also in my opinion, the Indra with Pantagruel and Gargantua is so powerful in PvE, it’s insane! Definitely the best PvE titan to use.

Manni, die Platzierung ist vollkommen in Ordnung. Ich komme mit dem Kraken Indra wunderbar zurecht, ich bin aber auch erst Expert Liga. Später wird es vermutlich nicht mehr der Fall sein, wenn die Spieler besser werden und wissen, wie sie einen Indra kontern können.

About 4:15 into this video he battles an Angler. Besides cover look at how much Manni had to shoot to destroy the shield on that bot. I am seeing this in game, where the Angler seems to have enormous shield strength. Pilot skills and passive modules don't seem to be the answer for this? thoughts?

As someone who has a stellar Sirius I think that Indra and Sirius being tied is a good ranking because Indra’s a much better brawler than Sirius and I only barely killed a Indra with my Sirius while still getting killed myself after, and I also play better than the Indra, but Sirius isn’t supposed to be going on a one on one.

the indra is so op on the test server any titan that get's hit by the lasso can't move or turn and will die at the end of the lasso even at 100% the only titan that could break free was the indra using it's phase shift
