The reason no one can come close to pacquiao is the fact that the more he went up, the more he got better. people doubted him and thought that his optimal weight class was in the feather weight or lighter , however it turned out he had more power and speed combined as he reached middleweight. So the reason why no one can come close, is simply because, a simple increase in weight class can prove fatal to some fighters and why de la hoya didnt went up because he know his body wont work in an even higher weight class. well this is my opinion so im sorry if im wrong.
