@MannysBookBag
@MannysBookBag 5 жыл бұрын
No. I haven’t got any RA triggers finalized yet. I would say the principles are going to be be similar and you just have to flesh out your criteria. In this cloud triggers video, I do discuss that you can now set up triggers for each category you want. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqTJnXR5g9eIg5o

Thanks, and enjoyed your presentation, but I have a question on your triggers. On each trigger, you set your minimum “Rank” to 1. If I look at the manual on the Scoutly site, in each trigger, the minimum “Ranks” are all much greater than 1. Same is true with other KZbinrs that discuss how to set triggers. Why did you choose to use 1 in the minimum Rank column? Thanks again.
@MannysBookBag
@MannysBookBag 6 ай бұрын
I don’t believe anyone would actually create working triggers that all begin at a rank of 1. These were never meant to be working triggers, merely a tutorial on how to set the parameters that you source by. Many sellers only source off if a single trigger or two. When you create profit triggers, you will create specific rank ranges with a set profit requirement for each range.

We’ve been having some really good discussion in the Asellertool Facebook group about profit triggers. One suggestion. I would make is to not use the option to set a minimum MF price when you’re operating with multiple triggers. It seems to cause some false rejections, so you’re better off relying on the other 6 decisions in the trigger to determine a buy or reject. If I were using just one trigger as a catch-all filter, I think setting a MF minimum price would be useful.

Manny, interesting video. As a new person to this I have had some training which recommends not going below a Sales Rank of 500,000 as a new person. I have set two triggers. My first Sales Rank is set from 1 to 300,00. and the second sales rank is set from 1 to 500,000. I would like to know what you would suggest for both of these triggers. For the near future I want to stay with books that will sell fairly quickly. I would like to hear your specific suggestions to my remarks. Thank you.

I would begin by saying that the concept of sending faster turning inventory when you are new is a sound one because it will help you to build cash flow. I was a fine example of a new seller whose inventory was too long tail in my beginnings. In your example, I think that a ceiling of 500,000 is slightly too conservative. Keep in mind that a book that has an average rank of 1 million will sell a copy every 7 to 10 days. I would have no problem with finding books up to that mark. I would also recommend that your first trigger be a bit more specialized. Instead of capping that first trigger at 300,000, I would recommend some things quite a bit tighter, like 100k. You can use this trigger to isolate the fastest selling books. This will allow you to make some individual decisions such as expected profit. I am not saying that a new seller should work their margins too closely, but it is very common to be willing to accept A slightly lower profit expectation because of how quickly they sell and turn into cash. From there, you can create rules for your second trigger, ranging from 100k-500k, and a third trigger which will cap out at 1 million. You can still play a conservative Game with this trigger by expecting a slightly higher profit. I hope that helps.

Thank you very much. I don’t personally use profit triggers, so I’ve only mocked up triggers for the book category. I would imagine that you could take the principles in this video and very easily translate them to any category. Thank you again for watching.

Manny thanks for the great content. Quick question. Do you suggest having the MF check with a price as you have in the video for triggers 7 through 10? I saw you post about it causing false rejections. Should I uncheck them for triggers 7 through 10? They are the only triggers I have this block check with a price? Thanks
@MannysBookBag

Great question, and thank you for following up. After asellertool pushed out cloud triggers, it highly prioritized profit triggers over basic and advanced triggers. I’ve put quite a bit of testing time into triggers, and I would highly recommend never ever using the box for minimum MF price. Leave that unchecked.

@@MannysBookBag thanks for the great advice. I'm only using the profit triggers. No advance plus and basic triggers. I only have the MF box check for triggers 7 thru 10. Should I uncheck it seeing how. I'm only using one set of triggers? Also is there a way to set up a trigger for books that don't have an FBA offer. I ran across it today but luckily I was looking at the screen. If I wasn't looking at the screen I would have missed a 10 dollar profit on a book.

Hi Manny. Again, great video 👍 I have a question, what kind of license do you have to sell in amazon?
@MannysBookBag

Manny's Book Bag I did not explain myself clearly with my question 😂 What I wanted to ask is; Do you use any business or seller license? You know, for taxes and business permits. I’m “new” as amazon seller but I know I need a license to sell any kind of products. Thanks Manny ✌️
@MannysBookBag
@MannysBookBag 4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. A business license through your state is going to give you protection from some liabilities we endure as sellers as well as added tax benefits at the times of purchases and tax filing. The most common licenses I see are sole proprietor (s-Corp) and LLC. Ask your tax pro which option maximizes your tax savings.

Ok so right now I am using the advanced triggers option where I did not adjust under the profit triggers option but the advanced option per help from a course I am a member if so should I try to set up per your instruction and see which would be best. Manny what about other categories is there a video on that available. Finally what is a target rank and ir days with sales one should look for as long as it's a go. Do you have a cheat sheet for triggers one should use. Thanks
@MannysBookBag
@MannysBookBag 5 жыл бұрын
I would first say to use what is working for you. If you are comfortable with the advanced triggers, that I would tell you to keep using them. Here’s the thing, though. Asellertool is going to be adding a lot of functionality including cloud triggers on the profit triggers, so if you could start working on replicating what your advanced triggers do in the profit triggers instead, it may be beneficial in the future when they stop supporting advanced triggers. The “other” triggers are triggers for any category that is not listed. So categories like automotive or toys are categories that you can set up triggers for in other.

Amazing video thanks! I have one question. Many times when I scan an item the highlighted price on Scoutly is the lowest MF price even though there is an FBA offer and higher MF prices. And it rejects the book when the FBA price would be a buy.
@MannysBookBag
@MannysBookBag 5 жыл бұрын
Assuming that you are using profit triggers, I would take a close look at which MF price is being viewed for the target price, whether it’s 5th lowest, last visible, etc. Also, API limitation could be a factor if last visible MF isn’t being looked at in database mode. On occasion, you will get a reject in database mode that becomes a buy if you perform a live scan. This is where the testing phase is helpful. You can look at what caused the reject and continue to adjust those triggers until the number of these incidents is infrequent. Best of luck in the process.

Hey Manny, I got a book that's selling for about $300-600 used and it is also signed by the author, but only has 2 sales in the last 6 months, not sure how I should price it.
@MannysBookBag
@MannysBookBag 5 жыл бұрын
I always look to see what comp sales are visible on eBay first. The autograph itself is worth mentioning in your Amazon description, but it doesn’t usually create any extra revenue on Amazon. eBay is often better for unique books like this. If selling on Amazon, I would price as normal. In the case of a book that only sells a few times a year, I always aim to be the lowest price so I can grab the next sale.
