Great Explanation sir but sir if we stand just below the actual position of the star....... i.e paralell to the normal.. the star should appear just at its actual place...... bcause sir when a ray of light paralell to the normal comes from rarer to denser medium , no refraction takes place... pls answer sir

I have a small doubt sir, In star twinkling light Ray bends towards the normal as it travels from rarer to optically denser medium but incase of Mirage light bends away from the normal as it moves from optically denser to rarer medium. sir,here my doubt is that is optical density increases or decreases from top to bottom layers of atmosphere ? Hope you respond sir.
