Answers for the questions asked in the video, A.1) When light travels from water (optically denser medium) to air (optically rarer medium), it's speed increases which is why it tends to move away from the normal. Here, Angle of incidence < Angle of Refraction A.2) Refraction of light occurs when the light ray travels from one medium to another medium. The reason behind this is because the speed of the light changes while doing so. For eg, when light travels from air to glass, it's speed decreases which is why it refracts from it's original path. Whereas when light travels from glass to air, it's speed increases which is why it bends away. A.3) Yes, a pool appears to be shallow when viewed normally as the refraction of light comes into play.
