There’s one inconsistency to point out, though: Alastor died in 1933. The song We’ll Meet Again whistled in the beginning was written in 1939 for soldiers going off to fight in WWII.

I think read a story once about a civil war soldier who survived getting shot between the eyes by really extreme luck and he gave an interview to a newspaper so I guess the bullet didn't damage his brain in a way that removed his ability to speak immediately.
