No, they made a sh*t out of the show by making it a melodrama with all that mental disease plot and Plot armouring Ruth's character, pussifying Marty's character in the process. The show went from gold to sh*t in the 3rd season itself.

I haven’t seen anyone bring this up so I will. Since Marty Byrd came to the Ozark’s he is the reason Ruth Langmore’s uncles, dad, and now cousin are all dead. Only Ruth and 3 are still alive since Marty entered their lives. I think this comes to a head in part 2 season 4.

I had nearly forgotten about Uncle Boyd and the other uncle what’s his name who was gay with agent Petty. I just remember them both getting electrocuted to death on Marty’s dock lol. And yeah Ruth’s dad Cade got whacked by Nelson on the road while trying to get away with the cartels money.

@@Bloomuhh Mindhunter was a huge loss. I think season 3 could’ve been some of the shows best with what they were building up to. I’m of the opinion that Netflix’s business model works to get as many people looking for different types of shows subscribed to their platform...but they should have more faith and invest more in the gems that really outshine the rest. I feel rather fortunate we’re even getting a finale with ozark so I’ll take what I can get!

What remains funny to me, is pretty much everyone has to die here. There almost can't be a good ending for this, everyone would call it too sappy. The kids, Marty and Wendy retiring to some non-extradition country, sipping Mai Tais on the beach while the kid's swim with their new friends. Yeah that was never going to happen. I will be surprised actually if any of the main characters survive. I don't think there is a "Jesse driving off into the sunset" for Ruth here. She's going to die. She is the Hank of this story, whose death will be amazingly well done. If she goes out, without Marty and Wendy begging for her life, and her telling them to fuck off before she dies, will make me sad.
